Smasher is an unprecedented custom modification of the classic Urei 1176 compressor circuit, a unique formula that we stumbled upon while fine-tuning other algorithms.

The original 1176 compressor hardware offered a selection of four ratios, but studio engineers soon discovered that pressing them all at once led to a distorted, explosive and highly compressed sound. It’s this β€œAll buttons in” or β€œBritish” mode that Smasher was painstakingly designed to recreate.

While remaining very close to the original circuitry, the modifications we’ve built into Smasher will add definition to transients and make your tone more aggressive. We love using it to enhance the ambience in drum busses, but there are many more creative uses too. Smasher won’t work on every single track, but where it does, it works magic.

Smasher excels at raw and gritty sounds, calling to mind bands like Vulfpeck, The Whitefield Brothers and The Black Keys.

Just about the gain in the Finalizer :
Unlike any analog chain and most DAW based solutions, the Finalizer has true infinite signal headroom. And there is also no need for adjusting a lot of gains in the chain to ensure that all processing modules are fed optimally. We have removed all unneeded gain parameters to obtain a fast and solid workflow.

Arturia? Seriously? Even if I thought Arturia's 1176 was any good, I don't have the necessary 46GB of memory to install it.
I've been hyped on PSP's FETpressor, lately, which is surprisingly buttery for being modeled after a fairly "hard" compressor. That aside, if Pulsar's other plugins are any indication, this might be worth throwing some money at.

That's their way to trap people into getting an ilok dongle.

I used to say 'dongles? Never !',
then one day, I had to buy cubase. And because I already had the elicenser dongle, why not getting Halion. Why not getting groove agent? Why not getting wavelab.?... why not getting Waldorf largo... etc etc...


Many people hate ilok, and they will never buy an ilok-based plugin.
All companies are aware of that.

It only takes a great deal, for a user to get trapped... once it's done, nothing will prevent them from buying other stuff.

Eg, I hate ilok, and I will never buy an app that uses it. I officially declare it, here.

But let's imagine, tomorrow, Uvi make a huge deal, and they sell Falcon 2 full, for 29 bucks, or a bundle with all the expansions, for 69 bucks.
Would I still NOT BUY an ilok- based product... hmmmmmm

OF COURSE I would buy it. Maybe the cheapest deal, but still.

There they have it. Now that my computer has been ilok-penetrated, and i have created an account, etc, and have the manager running on my system, if I see a great deal somewhere, I might well grab it.

This is why sometimes companies offer some of their new products, for almost free, hoping the guy will later purchase a few extra products.

Agreed 100--I refuse to mess with anything iLOK. It is an admirably shysty scheme to get people to jump down the proverbial rabbit-hole, though.

Very interesting on this awesome 1176 style compressor when you increase output knob the signal will be saturated more than before I love this comp very much I use mu compressor from this company too

Timebombs in Studio One 4. (Tested 64bit VST3) The plugin can only be on for a 2min time period before it triggers a resonant noise and the VU meter falls to -20dB. This occurs even if you turn no knobs and pass no audio though it.

I will have to agree, this plugin is timebombing in about 2 minutes of usage. im using Samplitude pro x 4, it has done the same thing on the 32x and 64x plugin.
