"Removable Media License" refers to a USB stick.

"Device" refers to your internal hard drive. So, a path that you are probably more familiar with will look like this: /Library/Application Support/Waves/Licenses

AU Registration showed no plugins after intallation. Here's what I had to do to get it to work....

the file info.xml contained here is an alias>

/Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle/Contents/Info.xml

It does not work if you click on it to find original.

There is a file called info.xml >
/Applications/Waves/Data/linux/lib/mkl/ia32/Info.xml

if you try to connect to it, it gives an error, but if you make an alias out of it and replace the alias in WavesLicenseEngine.bundle, au registration is then able to find the plugins. ( i deleted the word alias to match the original file but not sure if that is need or not.)

Obviously, follow the other instructions and do this before you run the au registration.

I end up with au's running native in monterey in logic, vst's showing up in "plugInfo" as intel, vst 3's showing native and AXX's showing native.

Anyone have a suggestion for getting the instrument sample libraries for this? I assumed you could just download them from the site. I did this and they worked but almost immediately it disabled all the Waves licenses in both Logic and Pro Tools. Redoing the RET process now, maybe the samples will work then? Any insights?

have you look at point 12 and 14 on my install List when you have Samples on other disk you have to auth too the disk with a wle file on the disk...done?

First uninstall prev. Waves Installations you can let libs of Instrumnets like Piano or Wurli on external disks.

1. unzip waves Folder
2. Install Waves Central and after in command line: sudo xattr -cr /Applications/Waves\ Central.app
3. open Waves Central and choose Continue offline
4. choose Browse
5. locate install.cen (in the upacked waves folder) and open
6. Install what you need (Drivers could make Problems for install no insall if you don’t need them)
7. Restart Mac after Install
7. Replace "WavesLicenseEngine" from RET/Patch in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle/Contents/MacOS/
8. Do codesign in Command line: sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle/Contents/MacOS/WavesLicenseEngine
9.Replace "index.js" in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/COSMOS/HTML/
10. Replace "app.asar" in
/Applications/Waves/COSMOS/COSMOS.app/Contents/Resources/
11.open Waves Central and choose Continue offline
12. chooae Licences left and note the Number of your main disk (if you install aditional libs on 2nd disk note this number too)
13. open Keygen on windows or PlayonMac Parallels and generate a wle file (or two with external disk)
14. Copy .wle file of Main disk to: /Library/Application Support/Waves/Licenses/ and for external disk to: (Device)/Waves/Licenses/ (when not exist generate the two folders when someting inside clear all)
15. Go to Applicatinons open Waves Folder in Wave Shells V14 Folder open Waves AU Reg Utility 14.app click let’s go (when all done correctly it detects all installed AU)
16. Open Logic or your daw should detect all Plugins (step 15 only au)

Thanks for your suggestion Exitor, but to be clear I did follow those steps exactly and all the plugins were licensed, including the instruments. But when I downloaded the sample files and linked the first instrument suddenly every license was disabled. I eventually discovered that the ,wle file had been renamed - it added 'out' to the end of the name. Replacing that with the original fixed the problem in Logic, and all the instruments work with their sample files now. But interestingly, all the Waves plugins had disappeared in Pro Tools and replacing the .wle file didn't restore them. Trashing the PT prefs now, hopefully I can avoid starting over.

UPDATE: Trashing the PT prefs restored all the Waves effects plugins. None of the instruments seem to be there, but I never use those in PT anyway.

I don't have those folders where you have to replace "WavesLicenseEngine", "index.js"... Do i have to create them or they should auto create once you download Waves Central? Im using Monterrey 12.5. Thanks in advance.

Followed these exact instructions for anyone that's having issues. (Copied from pg2 comments)

Is this ver have aax plugin? I follow your step and my protools still can't read any waves plugin.
btw when I run waves au reg utility, it says
"1. WaveShell1-AU 14.0.component found 0 AU Components in 0 Plug-In files,
Plug-in folder: /Applications/Waves/Plug-Ins V14". etc...

and on your step 10. after I gen the ".wle" file. should I need to rename it to replace the original file? or just copy and paste?
because I found that the file inside the licenses folder change from ".wle" to ".wle.out".

how could I fix it?

m1 Ventura some days all was fine,
then it bricks totally and don't work anymore. means validation was ok, but when I start one of the PlugIns only a clear Logic window open (like it happen sometimes before a plug Ins shows GUI) with Name, but GUI don't start and is gone and it don't works anymore (don't crashed logic). I did some Reinstall s and before deinstall with Waves Deinstaller, and also cleaned all what I find in libraries and hided libraries.
But logic still remembers after new install of waves complete don't do new Validation Scann... I have also tried rescan in logic , but this hadn't any effect
all other Plugins work normal - only waves have this issue

if somebody can help to fix this it would be nice

quote by ArlandaWhat plugins bundle should I install to get all waves plugins the quick way ? thanks

anything you want but avoid hardware drivers and cosmos

after this post ill add the complete clean and install as it turns out removing older waves is more complicated then installing it...both this and commercial copies act the same way, only your license on this site (only) works..dont bother elsewhere, I wasted days trying to figure it out until I download this version and finally used the license key engine etc.

WAVES Ventura m1 (from AudioZ)

its been solved for m1 Ventura, and much easier...the only problem is you guys need to remove any trace of WAVES....

Un install waves for Clean install
1 remove all using waves central
2 app remover, type waves, trash waves central+extras
3 remove any folders/files in both libraries in app support for cpu/user
4 remove any waves folders from both cpu/user
5 remove any waves folders in user/shared folder
6 Go to Mac HD > Library > LaunchDaemons and remove all the files related to Waves. If a file doesn't include the name "Waves", please don't remove it.
7 Go to Mac HD > Library > LaunchAgents and remove all the files related to Waves.
8 Do the same on the User library on your Mac:
9 In Finder, on Apple's top menu select the "Go" tab. A drop-down menu will open.
Hold down Alt\Opt key on your keyboard, and select the hidden Library folder.
10 Go to the LaunchAgents folder, and remove all of the Waves-related files (if they exist).
11 But this is not all, now you need to use the terminal, paste:
killall WavesLocalServer & rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer
you can use killall WavesLocalServer & rm -rf (drag file here from application support waves local servers) if still there

you can alternately delete "some not all" of those files via terminal
sudo rm -rf /Applications/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Users/Shared/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/Waves\ Preferences
sudo rm -rf /Library/Logs/Waves\ Audio
sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves\ Audio/

12 Once all the Waves files are removed from these folders, please fully quit the System Settings app,

restart the computer.

STEP by STEP for M1 Ventura

01. Download this latest waves v14 release by RET. (web or ret package )
02. Extract and install waves central.
03. Perform an offline installation of preferred (no drivers, cosmos stuff) but certainly not all or everything
—-If suck-sex-full WAVES central will not ask to restart

04. Replace waves licenses located at WavesLicenseEngine.bundle in Library>Application Support>Waves>Modules
Open the package and fid the license to replace. Drag drop or trash replace.

Run sudo on it as well :
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle or drag the content/file to terminal after sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - (only leave one space)

Or
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - (drag file here ) 1 peace before and after.

06. Run waves keygen on a windows pc or with crossover on M1 macs.
Create license with exact Device Name and ID as shown in Waves Central Licenses tab!
TIP: Find your computer id on waves central licenses tab, enter exact id to keygen and generate license file.

You can also find ID on Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses>LastAcceptableMACAddress

Drag / drop replace or trash replace the license file to Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses

07. RESTART your mac FIRST

08. run waves au reg utility 14 and click let's go, it will identify your plugins.

09. Open your daw it will automatically scan plugins, if not rescan plugins manually.
In logic if anything fails its usually due to trying to scan all the plugs at once, if you you scan 10-15 manually the only issue is that you get a contact waves error if you accidentally open a mono plug in a stereo channel strip.
