WAVES Ventura m1 (from AudioZ)

its been solved for m1 Ventura, and much easier...the only problem is you guys need to remove any trace of WAVES....

Un install waves for Clean install
1 remove all using waves central
2 app remover, type waves, trash waves central+extras
3 remove any folders/files in both libraries in app support for cpu/user
4 remove any waves folders from both cpu/user
5 remove any waves folders in user/shared folder
6 Go to Mac HD > Library > LaunchDaemons and remove all the files related to Waves. If a file doesn't include the name "Waves", please don't remove it.
7 Go to Mac HD > Library > LaunchAgents and remove all the files related to Waves.
8 Do the same on the User library on your Mac:
9 In Finder, on Apple's top menu select the "Go" tab. A drop-down menu will open.
Hold down Alt\Opt key on your keyboard, and select the hidden Library folder.
10 Go to the LaunchAgents folder, and remove all of the Waves-related files (if they exist).
11 But this is not all, now you need to use the terminal, paste:
killall WavesLocalServer & rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer
you can use killall WavesLocalServer & rm -rf (drag file here from application support waves local servers) if still there

you can alternately delete "some not all" of those files via terminal
sudo rm -rf /Applications/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Users/Shared/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/Waves\ Preferences
sudo rm -rf /Library/Logs/Waves\ Audio
sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves\ Audio/

12 Once all the Waves files are removed from these folders, please fully quit the System Settings app,

restart the computer.

STEP by STEP for M1 Ventura

01. Download this latest waves v14 release by RET. (web or ret package )
02. Extract and install waves central.
03. Perform an offline installation of preferred (no drivers, cosmos stuff) but certainly not all or everything
—-If suck-sex-full WAVES central will not ask to restart

04. Replace waves licenses located at WavesLicenseEngine.bundle in Library>Application Support>Waves>Modules
Open the package and fid the license to replace. Drag drop or trash replace.

Run sudo on it as well :
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle or drag the content/file to terminal after sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - (only leave one space)

Or
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - (drag file here ) 1 peace before and after.

06. Run waves keygen on a windows pc or with crossover on M1 macs.
Create license with exact Device Name and ID as shown in Waves Central Licenses tab!
TIP: Find your computer id on waves central licenses tab, enter exact id to keygen and generate license file.

You can also find ID on Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses>LastAcceptableMACAddress

Drag / drop replace or trash replace the license file to Library>Application Support>Waves>Licenses

07. RESTART your mac FIRST

08. run waves au reg utility 14 and click let's go, it will identify your plugins.

09. Open your daw it will automatically scan plugins, if not rescan plugins manually.
In logic if anything fails its usually due to trying to scan all the plugs at once, if you you scan 10-15 manually the only issue is that you get a contact waves error if you accidentally open a mono plug in a stereo channel strip.

Install worked great, except for VST (AU and AAX working great). Are there any instructions to get VST working? Thank you RET. (Mac M1 Max, Monterey)

Make sure you codesign (follow instructions by zzax), this is easy to look over.

sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

And make sure to set device name to the SAME name as device name in waves central (do NOT use any name as the keygen describes) and leave type set to comp. Device name is located above device ID.

Personally I uninstalled waves and waves central using appcleaner before having success with installation, but I DO NOT have VST plugins showing.

AAX and AU working great on M1 Max Monterey.

I have the same issue. VST not showing. Only VST3 and AU. Any fix to this?

Waves dosent support VST 2 anymore.. so if you have vst3 you have the full install.. I can't get ANY version of VST to show up strangely, even though it worked fully on a friends 2020 m1 macbook.

Right, What are the full complete instructions for installing on an M1 Mac, there seems dtoi be instructions but then someone else has come along and said you need to put the license engine into the .bundle folder...if we could have one post on here that explains the instructions fully that would be great

The most important instruction is this one:

05. Replace "WavesLicenseEngine" in
/Library/Application Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle/Contents/MacOS/

Most instructions ask you to replace the .bundle file with WavesLicenseEngine, when you should actually replace the file inside the .bundle package.

Sorry if this is a noob question but do i have to download all the "part" files?
  Member 12.01.2021 600

In short, yes. But you can combine the parts from the two hosters (for instance P1 RG, P2 kat, ...).

M1 ventura, works perfectly.
do make sure to delete every last bit of waves folder you have before installation (there is a very detailed instruction in one of the comments here).
all so don't overlook all the sudo codesign instructions.
