I'm running Pro Tools 10HD on Snow Leopard and get persistent Kernel Panics when booting my machine. When I boot my computer crashes with the dark screen with Chinese letters that says "You need to restart your computer..." The crash log points to the following two files as likely culprits:

com.paceap.kext.pacesupport.snowleopard

com.digidesign.iokit.DigiDal

Is there anything I can do to resolve the issues with these files? I never had these issues with previous versions of Pro Tools 10HD. Could it be the Hotfix R3 that's causing the problem?

was having issues with impporting audio and batch changing signal routing - would constantly get hit w/ the PT 10 is corrupted. Just found the R3 hotfix, hopefully this solves that issue. Thank you so much :)

If anyone involved (Copylefter/Openssh) want any bug reports i can provide whatever i come across/have already noticed. Let me know and thank you so much for this one - vast improvement on prior versions thus far

Did the hotfix work?
It worked for my friend on his mac 10.8.5.

I tried it out and it worked for a while but then went back to that corrupted error. I have full uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times, same result w/o hotfix and with hotfix.

Only thing that is different since the first install is the new dylib. Do you think putting back the original dylib file and a fresh install then a hotfix before opeining the app would do the trick? I will give it a shot.

Thanks for reading.

I had the same PT10 corrupted message when importing omf files,
but the R3 Hotfix fixed it. Great!!!!
I also had massive crashes of the mac (macbook pro, osx 10.8.5) when exporting multiple audio files at the same time (more than 3 files, 5 minutes long, 24/44.1), with the spinning wheel first and then a global freezing needing a reboot.
I'll see if the Hotfixes has an effect on this.
However I'm not sure this is due to PT as nobody else seems to have reported that.

It is not possible to install it on any OSX above Mavericks, without running into issues. Of course, with some tweaking, it works, but not hassle free.

I've posted this in the Waves (v9.6, 1st June release) thread, but thought I try my luck here too.

Anyone knows why loading any of the Waves plugin on Pro Tools 10.3.10 (copylefter) would crash PT? I tried reverting back to Waves v9r18 and while it does not crash, the Waves plugin GUI is blank. Other plugs are fine.

If it helps, the machine has a Retina display. Everything worked fine before I moved over to this Retina machine, even though I kept to the same OS with the same PT and Waves version.

My NFR licences are no longer usable, I will then rely on that... and give a try to Mixbus3.

Thanks

Hello, I have it installed in Sierra.
I found the way to change the installer info to have install access.
this install works in all Sierra systems.
Works for original and K releases
How can I help with this?

Hey how do i get this to work in sierra?

could you send me your modified pro tools installer?

hello guys this are the steps:

First, go to your home folder and create a folder to save the extracted installer into.
$ cd ~/
$ mkdir 'Installer'
$ cd 'Installer'

Open the .dmg file or disk containing the installer files of Pro Tools 10. It contains the 'Install Pro Tools.pkg' file we need and also some other files needed during the installation. But we'll come back to them later.

Back in your terminal window type the following but don't hit the enter key. Also type one extra space character at the end.

$ pkgutil --expand

Next we need the path to the installer file. We can enter it by dragging and dropping the 'Install Pro Tools.pkg' file onto the terminal window. This should fill in the path and should now look something like this (still don't hit enter yet):

$ pkgutil --expand /Volumes/Pro\ Tools/Install\ Pro\ Tools.pkg
'pkgutil' also wants a name for the folder it will extract the contents to. Append 'package' to the command and finally hit enter. It might take a while to finish.

$ pkgutil --expand /Volumes/Pro\ Tools/Install\ Pro\ Tools.pkg package
Inside the 'Installer' folder we created earlier is now a 'package' folder where the contents of the installer are. Open it in the Finder:

$ open package

Next we'll find the file that's responsible for blocking our install attempts and alter it. It's called 'Distribution'. Find it in the folder and open it with a text editor. (You can open it with TextEdit using a right click and 'Open With'.)

The file contains several functions which execute the checks. The one we're interested in is right near the top and called 'installationChecks'. The start of the function looks like this:

function installationChecks()
{
var resultRAM = installationCheckRAM();
var resultOS = volumeCheckLeopard();
var resultPT = installationCheckPT();

[...]
What we need to do is change the 'resultOS' variable to always be true. This can be done by replacing 'volumeCheckLeopard()' with 'true' as shown here:

function installationChecks()
{
var resultRAM = installationCheckRAM();
var resultOS = true;
var resultPT = installationCheckPT();

[...]
That's it. Save and close your editor. We now need to package all the extracted files back into an installer. Back in the terminal, tell 'pkgutil' to take the 'package' folder and turn it into a new installer. You can name the new installer what you want, we'll use 'InstallProTools.pkg' here. This operation can take a couple of minutes.

$ pkgutil --flatten package InstallProTools.pkg
Finally, we need to copy the other files from your original .dmg or disk into the folder of our new installer. Open the folder in finder ...

$ open .
... and drag and drop the 'Uninstall Pro Tools', 'Additional Files' and 'Licenses' files from your .dmg or disk into the folder.

Double-click the 'InstallProTools.pkg' and Install.

Hope you helped with this.

I think that should be easier if someone upload a new "adapted release" with this modified installer. Because one time that you have edited and re-compiled, it works in all installations.

Install worked with your fix, but when I try to open PT I get this error:

"Check with the developer to make sure Pro Tools works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS."

Do you know of a fix for this problem? I have macos Sierra 10.12.3. Thanks!

Hello guys .
mmm I don't know whats happening to your installations :(
Now im in 12.4 and continues working in my system.
Maybe some cracker or more knower of code could help to this tread.
the key of this is avoid system version checker .

I'm on Yosemite (yes it works... try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qt-S7p0n6g4&t=2s) but here's a list of things that worked under Mountain lion that doesn't anymore :

- AAX and OMF imports doesn't work
- R & T shortcuts freezes and stop working (annoying)
- the plug in menus don't show until you scroll with the mouse, annoying, eventually the Pro Tools plug ins menus sucks anyway, it's just worse
