TEAM FLARE Output Arcade Utility Tool v1.0 READ NFO-FLARE screenshot
Team FLARE | 03 May 2021 | 33.5 MB

! REQUIRES THE LATEST VERSION OF JAVA TO WORK !

MAC USERS YOU MIGHT NEED TO SUDO THE APP FOR IT TO WORK PROPERLY!

PASTE THIS IN THE TERMINAL:

sudo java -jar "[Location of flare-arcade-1.0.0.jar]"

EXAMPLE:

sudo java -jar "/Users/name/Desktop/flare-arcade-1.0.0.jar"

What does this tool do?

This tool imports and exports Output Arcade's Library Content. This
tool must be used to import our Library Content as Arcade has a .db
file which needs to be modified for the content to be recognized.

How do I use this tool?

To Import your library content you must select the Arcade Content Path
(it should be done automatically). If you'd like to change the path
you must open Arcade then go to the settings and change it from there!

The default locations are:

For Windows:

C:\ProgramData\Output\Arcade

For Mac:

System/Library/Application Support/Output/Arcade

After you specify the content location you must specify the path
where your downloaded library content is.

After you can click import and wait for the tool to do its
importing. (It might take a while depending on your system).

Once it's done you'll get a popup window saying that its completed.

How do I export kits/lines?

Specify where you want to export your kits to. Make sure its in a
folder and not in a root directory. Once you do that, select which
lines/kits you'd like to export. You can select multiple by holding
down CTRL (Windows) or Command (Mac) and clicking on what you want.

After the kits you want are selected, you can click export and wait
for the tool to do its exporting. (It might take a while depending on
your system).

Then click export. Once it's done you'll get a popup saying its
completed.

Can I import/export my own custom kits?

At the moment you aren't able to import/export your own kits. You
might be able to in future updates though!

Double click on the .jar file and it should open up an app.

Problem Part I (SOLVED)

just updated my java, double clicking got no response, running it in the Command Prompt getting me these :

where to get a more recent Java ?

Problem Part II (PARTLY SOLVED)

Managed to get the Flare Arcade Utility running. Figured that have to import content one folder (content/expansion) at a time because it's how the tool work. Managed to copy files, I tried 3 folders/content but when I opened Arcade in the DAW, the new content does not showing up.

From the Command Prompt this is the summary/result after importing was done (for the uploader review if there is any error) :

Problem Part III (SOLVED)

Can't change the content location in the Arcade VST/VST3. It will copy the content to the new location, but it will revert back to default location again when closed and opened back.

Also the VST/VST3 appear to not remember the UI size setting, and revert back to default when closed and opened back.

Problem Part IV

Preview button isn't working, can't preview the sample.

This JDK there contains the newest JRE (Java Runtime Environment).

For those that don't know how to run it, or are not getting any UI when double clicking on the JAR file on windows after installing the JDK above:

1. In the address bar at the top in file explorer, just type "cmd" and press enter. This should open up a command prompt in that folder
2. Type in (followed by enter)
java -jar flare-arcade-1.0.0.jar

3. It should launch now

That said, double clicking should work fine, the above shouldn't be required.

Yeah thanks for that, I can actually open the tool now. Importing does nothing though, says importing complete but nothing gets imported.

For the life of me I can't get the .exe installer to run. Then I downloaded the archived version and extracted it to C:/ProgramData/Java and even after trying to open the tool with Java.exe I still can't get the damn thing to run, or the Jar file in cmd to recognize the updated version.

Edit: After many hours of tinkering and troubleshooting, I had to change the Environment Variables in System Settings and change the path to include the new Java bin on my computer. Finally got the tool up and running. I hope nobody else has this much issue with running Java on their computer as I did.

Answer to Part III:

If your custom content folder doesn't stick in Arcade options then close Arcade and edit the..

C:\ProgramData\Output\Arcade\paths.xml

-----------------------------------------------------------

Sound preview of kits and favorites saving didn't work.
Team Flare says it's an online option only but creating user kits comes, maybe.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Adding User Variables to Windows:

In order to define "Environment Variable", make a right click on "This PC" and select "properties" from the menu. Then the "System" window will appear and you have to click on "Advanced system settings". As a consequence "System properties" window shows. Select the "Advanced" tab and click on "Environment Variables" button. You can now define the aforementioned variables.

e.g.:

JAVA_HOME and its value should be the installation path of JDK.
(for example: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_77)

JRE_HOME and its value should be the installation path of JRE.
(for example C:\Program Files\Java\jre8)

If done you can double click any .jar. I think here you need only the JDK variable!

Important: Start the java.exe with admin rights if no new successful imported kit in Arcade listed or as second option....

..if drag'n'drop samples to Arcade doesn't work change permissions of the C:\ProgramData\Output Folder.

Access the Properties dialog box of the Output folder with right click on it.
Select the Security tab.
Click Edit. ...
Give your user account or user group all permissions with the check boxes below.
(maybe a specific file/folder is enough but i like the hammer method!)
Click OK. ...
Click OK.
