there's no keygen for these new releases... the updated versions of EZD\SD are unlocked but, sorry to say, are windows only...

This library is a bit of fun and not bad for 500mb but for these type of drums it goes without saying that there are many bigger and better Kontakt options out there if you have the space.

EDIT - had to come back and say, just used some of the Action midi files with SDX Orchestral Perc 1 & 2 - WOW !

This library is not quite as high quality as some Kontakt libraries, but it is very suitable for "filling up". In a mix you don't hear that anymore.

Hope you guys won't mind helping me with this question. If I don't have any version of EZ Drummer 2 installed, will I be able to just install Toontrack EZdrummer v2.1.8 CE-V.R and use this Action EZX expansion or does it require the previous original release along with the EZD 2 factory content.

Your help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Forget ezdrummer and just go for the latest Superior Drummer 3.1.4 by V.R, you won’t have any problems with this or any other previously released EZX or SDX, you don’t need the factory content for the expansions to work. The factory content is good though so I would get it if I were you, the ezdrummer factory content works in SD3, the SD3 factory content only works in SD3

If you like me prefer EZdrummer 2 instead of Superior Drummer 3 (EZdrummer 2 is simpler/quicker to use) here's my EZdrummer v2.1.8 repack for 64-bit which fixes all installation issues. It includes the EZdrummer 2 core libraries already updated to v1.1.1 and the EZdrummer v2.1.8 files from the V.R. release:

Just extract that file and run the 2 installers from both folders to install everything.

Hi,
I'm a bit confused. Depending on the release, some of these EZX libraries come with an installer (.exe) and others don't.
So how does one 'install' the ones without an installer?

Extract the "EZX2_InsertNameOfExpansionHere" and "Midi" folders to the EZdrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 3 sound folder. The default sound files folder for EZdrummer 2 is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZDrummer
