MIDI, SF, Akai, outdated
Big Fish Audio Kitch 70s AKAI-DViSO screenshot
Team DViSO | 09-04-2003 | 372.07 MB
Made with numerous vinyl manipulations, the loops of Kitch 70's breathe authenticity. With beats from 84-133 bpm on audio CD or on CD-ROM with midi files, it's a snap to inject the sound of the 70's into your mix. A massive undertaking of more than 30,000 12" records were reviewed to make this disc a true 70's child. The accent is on extreme sound quality, tons of material and the very best of this era's sound.

I might have to remember how to extract AKAI disks with CD Xtract or is this done for

I tried to extract with several apps, but no luck. I gave up because I figured the end result would be a format I couldn't use anyway. BUT, maybe there are .WAVs in there?

It's been a long while since I've done this but I think you need to extract and concert samples (unless you can use the AKAI format directly). To do this, I think I used Extreme Sample Converter. It's messy and confusing but very powerful (going from memory here). Do a search on this site: it is there and one of the links still works. I just checked...

Didn't work mounting for me.

Product is from 2003.
If they sampled records for this material, with audio sniffing algorithms, you won't be able to use it anyways with copyright issues.

Guys, use the software I mentioned above. I have extracted and converted all he samples no problem. I would upload but that's for PiRAT to decide. And there's really no need.

Dowload the software/ When you start it, go to Virtual Disks on the top menu bar. Navigate to where you extrated the image and it will pick it up no probleme. I think it recognises source formats automatically but there is an option in the Source Format meny anyway. Choose your Destination Format.

You will see that it recognises a number of partitions. Click on a partition and you will see all the groups of loops/samples/ Select those samples and click convert. Do that for all the partitions that contain samples. Done.

!!! CD Xtract !!! It goes perfect, I extracted all the samples in their respective folders in WAV format and even in NKI format. The samples are jewels.
Audioz is culture within everyone's reach.

I converted the files for Kontakt: This style of patch making was fine for 90s samplers, not a practical standard for the present. Besides, the samples are not very exciting and I don't think they are royality free either.
I don't recommend this release
For those wishing to try it, the Kontakt version is here:

Samples featured are from already published recordings: NOT royality free

Me too, I extracted it via CDXtract, which worked like a charm.
Thanks for this post!

Samples remind me of late 1980s/early 1990s sampling when hiphop and dance music used alot of breakbeats lifted off records.

Dirty drum loop breakbeats, some with lots of noise, distortion, reverb, flange or phaser fx.

Yep, sure enough, it has "The Soul Searchers - Ashley's Roachclip" breakbeat (Partition B - 20-100Loop#1 -- Jazzy P.wav), which has been used in 'Paid In Full' by Eric B. & Rakim, and 'Set Adrift on Memory Bliss' by P.M. Dawn.
