Twisted Vocals (525MB)
Our lead pack this month is an exclusive mix of seven multisampled vocal pads, 90 heavily processed one-shot effects and spoken phrases, plus 166 finely crafted vocal drum and percussion hits. Each sample and hit was recorded into Logic using an SM58 and AKG C3000, then individually processed using a range of plug-ins before being mastered in Pro Tools. The result is a massive toolkit of organic sounds that can be used to add a human touch to your tracks, from hummed and sung pads to more complex moving textures. Rather than simple beatbox-style hits, the drum sounds cover some surprisingly close approximations of snares, claps, hats, kicks, toms and percussion. With the exception of the one-shot vocal FX, all of the sounds come with accompanying Kontakt instruments.

Psy Trance (407MB)
Although Psytrance remains a more underground dance music scene, it’s still massively popular across Europe, with huge festivals such as Boom and Ozora attracting thousands. We’ve got a great pack of high-energy riffs and hits for you to use in your productions, including soaring arpeggios, fast-paced bass lines, tech grooves and plenty of FX sounds to help keep the dance floor moving. Many of the riffs feature complex filter movements to give that full-on acid trance vibe and all are provided in both ACID WAV and Apple Loops formats.

808 Drum Hits (72MB)
Wave Alchemy is well known for its meticulous attention to detail when it comes to crafting electronic drum hits, and we’re big fans of their sounds, especially the kick drums. On this month’s disc you’ll find 318 drum samples taken from the classic TR-808 drum machine but given a Wave Alchemy twist. All of the sounds have been recorded directly to 1/4-inch analogue tape via a Studer A80 Mk 1 tape machine and given multiple saturation settings. There are kicks, snares, toms, hats and percussion hits, with clean, saturated and driven versions of each to give bulkier alternatives with different transient characteristics.

Loopmasters Collection (239MB)
The hugely prolific Loopmasters team continues to release high-quality electronic music-based samples packs and we’ve picked examples from six of their best recent releases for you to take a look at. If you’re a house music fan you’ll definitely want to check out Big Room House Essentials, which accompanies the review in this month’s mag and includes some big synth riffs and bouncing 128BPM beats. You’ll also find chilled-out drums and keys in Atalanta Chill, dirty tech synths and beats from Dom Kane, some slower 105BPM electro funk grooves in Nick Theyer’s Ghetto Bass pack, plus deeper, broken-beat riffs from The Moody Boyz. Finally, there are pure analogue FX and soundscapes suitable for any genre from the Radiophonic Synth Workshop.

Logic 407: Producing with Folders (35 minutes)
Sometimes, a few key changes in your workflow can have a surprisingly big affect on how quickly and efficiently you write, record and mix your tracks. One incredibly useful and often overlooked area of Logic are Folders, which enable you to pack both regions and tracks into one tidy package. macProVideo has teamed up with YouTube guru David Earl (aka SFLogicNinja) to produce an extensive tutorial on using Folders, and they’ve kindly supplied a 35-minute taster covering preparing sessions for multitrack drum recording, orchestral arrangements and tips for quickly re-arranging your track structure.
