Harmony in Practice by Anna Butterworth screenshot
English | Publisher: ABRSM Publishing, 1999 | PDF | 280 pages | 125 MB
Harmony in Practice explores the main elements of tonal harmony. Students using this book will acquire a secure knowledge of the basics of harmonic practice. Singing, playing and completing the exercises, and studying the music examples, will provide essential experience of the 'tools of the trade'.

More than 280 music examples illustrate the author's clear and direct exposition of the history and practice of harmony while the student will be able to work through over 180 exercises.

The practical workbook format will enable students to prepare for a variety of musical examinations - for the Associated Board's Grade 6 to Grade 8 Theory examinations; for A Level Music and Diploma examinations; for university and college entrance papers. It will serve in particular as a vital aid in bridging the gap between Grade 5 and Grade 6 Theory.

A thorough pursuit of this workbook will also bring a greater understanding to bear on students' music-making, and will enhance their awareness of style and their appreciation of other musicians' performances.

Prepare students for a variety of musical examinations. Pay attention to this, otherwise you do not enter many universities.

Oh, my friend, my opinions are not strong, my experience is that it is, strong are the real life situations for any musician, the competition is also stronger, many of the musicians who work in TVs worldwide, have relatives in that big companies or are sponsored by great friends, so you're out, even though you're more talented. And believe me, many great and good artists, stay out and end up having to give music lessons to survive, sometimes they become harsh critics and see problems in anything about music.
But, the topic "i" wrote above is about entering major universities in New York, Germany, Austria, , Spain, Paris, Japan etc, which means that entering a famous university, does not mean that someone will be a great musician, and depends on what is the subject of music you are going to study. You can study hard to be a university professor, therefore, we need good teachers to train 'N' professionals. Boston Berklee is the easiest, just pay them you are in.
