Experimental Sound and Radio by Allen S. Weiss screenshot
English | Publisher: MIT Press, 2001 | PDF | 195 pages | 9 MB
Art making and criticism have focused mainly on the visual media. This book, which originally appeared as a special issue of TDR/The Drama Review, explores the myriad aesthetic, cultural, and experimental possibilities of radiophony and sound art.

Taking the approach that there is no single entity that constitutes "radio," but rather a multitude of radios, the essays explore various aspects of its apparatus, practice, forms, and utopias. The approaches include historical, political, popular cultural, archeological, semiotic, and feminist.

Topics include the formal properties of radiophony, the disembodiment of the radiophonic voice, aesthetic implications of psychopathology, gender differences in broadcast musical voices and in narrative radio, erotic fantasy, and radio as an electronic memento mori.
The book includes a new piece by Allen Weiss on the origins of sound recording.

By the way, books are the least commented posts.

There are several researches that say that humans anywhere in the world do not like to read, prefer to see things that are already thought out, chewed up like TV, movies. It is already known that television dampens the human being. And cognitive functions are severely hampered for the rest of their lives, so do not leave your children in front of them for more than 2 hours a day.

TVs should be sold with a stripe on top of them, with this message:
WARNING, THIS IS EXTREMELY HARMFUL AND MAY DAMAGE YOUR MIND.

The countries that most read and consume books are those that are in cold weather and are located in the northern part of Europe, in the south, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands, in the East Japan and the Americas side, only Canada is saved in the reading. This index is also based on the number of books sold and translated into local languages. Soon there is a reason between tropical climate and long winters.

Books are considered privileged information, when someone gives you privileged information, you can change your life, grow more than others, because you are more informed in various subjects, otherwise stagnant, the best example of this is the whole African continent Which associated with the intense heat of the whole year. But India has a similar climate, but read much more and the intellectuals from there are famous.

Once, a research was done in prisons, they left there books of all genres, when neither 2% even hold a book in hand.
In prisons throughout the USA, libraries are sparsely populated, it is common to see half a dozen people there. However, in the Netherlands, they are transforming the very few prisons that exist in libraries and other cultural things, this only happens in countries where education is the equal for everyone and reading is present for all.

Recently released a story, it annoying to know that it is common in all Americas, when stocks of books that are not sold are recycled into toilet paper.
