Some (or all?) of the Slate videos are .TS (Transport Stream) H264 MPEG 4 files. Does Slate provide their own player program for these? They might work better streamed online. I used Handbrake to convert to x265 format and it plays fine.

I use k lite codec pack and works great. Some wonderful guys also mentioned other players that worked in previous releases.

Don't worry guys about chopping. I've the same problem. To fix it:

1: OPEN VLC - FILE (MENU) - CONVERT\SAVE
2: ADD .TS FILES FROM SLATE FOLDER
3: PRESS CONVERT
4: FILES CONVERTED IN .MP4
5: ENJOY

Demuxing and remuxing is a lot faster.
You can use a lot of free tools for this: tsMuxer, My MP4Box, Mkvtoolnix etc...
