At least one important detail about licenses is located in;

C:\Users\Public\Documents\STL

...did you delete that folder in the wiping process, before the re-install? I've seen that files being modified while connected to the web (no firewall, default hosts file).

Another file could been modified after a call; tracer_license.bin, which is located in

C:\ProgramData\STL\ToneHub\TracerLicense

...obviously, if you try again I recommend to wipe the whole STL folder located in ProgramData (if Revo Uninstaller didn't).

Other folder to wipe; %AppData%\STL

Read again about the deep uninstall, post clean & check for leftover files and folder processes.

Download the last R2R release.

Don't forget to make the whole process being really offline (turn off your router, or plug off your ethernet wire if u're not using wifi), I've seen files tryin' tunel conections through a full blocking firewall.

DO NOT DISABLE YOUR NETWORK CARDS!, their maccaddresses must be available for the kg to crack the software (althoug there is no connection to the web).

Go to Windows Defender and disable it COMPLETELY (is just 'till everything works), not only "real time protection". The kg can be executed in safe mode too, which I recommend specially in case of Win 11 23H2.

Install again.

Run kg as Admin.

Many people is afraid to touch the hosts file, I was in the past too, but are just lines and the file is easyly *defaultable*. Anyway, there's another resource to apply as a *brute force firewalling*; to block .exe, .vst, .vst3, .aax, .dll & so on. In case of STL the next .bat wont let out & in any traffic.

I mean; NOT ONLY .EXEs PHONE HOME!

This .bat points just to .exe & vst3 files, so in case of any other instance, as vst2 & .aax, u've gotta add their correspondant paths followed by the same command, but changing the extension (*.dll), (*.aax)

###############################################

@ setlocal enableextensions
@ cd /d "C:\Program Files\STL Tones"

for /R %%f in (*.exe) do (
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Blocked: %%f" dir=in program="%%f" action=block
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Blocked: %%f" dir=out program="%%f" action=block
)

@ cd /d "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\STL Tones\STL ToneHub.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win"

for /R %%f in (*.vst3) do (
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Blocked: %%f" dir=in program="%%f" action=block
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Blocked: %%f" dir=out program="%%f" action=block
)

pause

I've made many tests in several real machines (not VMs), this soft & crack really works. There are many details to take in count & follow (truely and deep uninstall, temp files & reg clean, hosts modify and secure it after by make it read only, etc.etc.), and I really know how easy is to get lost and overwhelmed at the beggining of this road, so if you wanna try just copy this thread to any text editor, go offline and let it rock.

Thanks for writing such a detailed post. I've tried everything you've mentioned here to a tee and it still doesnt work.

I've installed the same R2R Tonehub on another computer and it works right away after running the KG. No need to mess with hosts files and stuff, so i'm super confused why it doesnt work on this specific machine.

One thing is certain (and I'm obviously not saying anything new): there must be a reason for this phenomenon. PC setup/incomplete uninstall/missing component/Op. system/maybe hardware incompatibility, etc. The world of IT can be a deep rabbit hole sometimes. :) If it works on your other machine, I would compare the two setups.

Is your system account an Administrator one? There is a reg mod that leaves your system under your absolute control, is like disabling UAC but in deepest mode, which many people consideers *dangerous...* (I live that way ). You can enable/disable that state by merging the next .reg files. I've seen some strange behavior about permissions in some OSs 'cause mods made by their users, perhaps that is what doesn't let you go forward.

Disable LUA (system level for users/admins). Copy/paste the next lines in a .txt file & save it as LUAoff.reg (u've gotta choose "All types" under the subject field, not .txt).

###############################################
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"EnableLUA"=dword:00000000

###############################################

If after merging the .reg above u're finally able to make ToneHub work, you can return to the default OS security state by merging the next .reg.

Enable LUA (default security state).Copy/paste the next lines in a .txt file & save it as LUAon.reg (u've gotta choose "All types" under the subject field, not .txt).

###############################################
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"EnableLUA"=dword:00000001

Tried these LUA reg files but it doesnt work too. I think I'll give up, the next best option is to honestly just install on a fresh copy of windows, but I'm not gonna do that to this computer because there's just too many stuff on here.

Thanks for all the help though! I just need to wait and pray for VR to release their version, because theirs works right out of the box.
