I have attempted another fresh download and installation and it still opens up to a login screen. I have tried multiple pro uninstall programs that remove all traces, I even searched through the registry and deleted anything mentioning tonehub. I cannot get this one to work at all. The same install files I have, worked on my friends computer the first try. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi, have you installed other STL programs, as Ignite-AmpHub, Tonality, etc.?, are those functional?
  Member 30.10.2023 17

Hello! Thanks for the reply - I have Ignite-Amphub on the studio pc and I just opened the standalone right up and it was working, I don't think I had installed tonality just yet. Thanks again! I may wipe my guitar laptop since there really isnt anything on it just yet and install it first and see if it works before I install any other plugins.

...well, a fresh system install could help, but the issue could appear again if the cause keeps unknown, perhaps worths try a total STL uninstall, AmpHub included. If you wanna try, follow this attempt.

First, edit your hosts file by adding this;

#STL TONES
0.0.0.0 www.userarea.stltones.com
0.0.0.0 userarea.stltones.com
0.0.0.0 www.spirionix.com
0.0.0.0 spirionix.com
0.0.0.0 stltones.com
0.0.0.0 www.stltones.com

A few days ago I was surprised by some sites which where not really blocked if the "www." wasn't present in the line, but most of the sites that I block doesn't require it. Since that experience I duplicate every line with the www. prefix. Yes, is bruteforce, not knowledge...

Other important detail; make all your files & folders vissible, hidden system ones included. R2R Team has wrote the proper way to deal with previous VR versions in the included .txt, so, also pay atention to this;

"Be careful, Team VR sets "system" attribute to those files.
It should be invisible in some computers.

For noobs who can't find previous license:
Open Command Prompt and put following commands:

cd %PUBLIC%\Documents\STL
attrib /s -s -h -r

Now all files should have normal attributes."

Try to get Revo Uninstaller Pro v3.0.8 x64 (I've experimented this version as the best for years), and CCleaner. Once installed both programs execute Revo Uninstaller and set the options (go to Tools---Options) as shown below;

GENERAL
*Uncheck updates at startup.
*Uncheck "Show commands in context menu handler"

UNINSTALLER
Under "Delete files & folders" select "Permanently"

Now execute CCleaner & configure it avoiding delete (uncheck) some Γtems which could be useful for you, eg.: Network passwords, internet browsers saved passwords, cookies, Office indexation, etc.. Look carefully all items shown in both columns of CCleaner (Windows & Applications).

Of my personal CCleaner's config I think this as relevant in the Windows column;
*Check all in "Windows Explorer" EXCEPT FOR Network Passwords.
*Check all in "System".
*Check all in "Advanced" EXCEPT FOR "Custom Files and Folders" and "Wipe Free Space", cause wipe free space could take many hours in a HDD, and really stress a lot to SSD & NVMe drives for no reason at all.

You'll see the Registry options at the left of the program too, personally I leave all items checked there.

Once done, close CCleaner and execute Revo Uninstaller, double click on ToneHub, the proper ToneHub uninstaller will start, just be sure to choose a complete uninstall. After that you'll see that Revo offers to inspect your system in search for files, folders and registry entries, u've gotta choose the "Advanced" option, is the deepest wiper one. Sometimes Revo is not perfect, but helps a lot. U'll get the registry items list, you may check it carefully, but in my experience Revo is assertive. Click on "Select All" and "Delete", later the ToneHub's files & folders list will be shown (after an auto-scan), try to check it and when you're sure click on "Select all" and "Delete". Do the same for AmpHub.

Close Revo and execute CCleaner by clicking on "Custom Clean" ---> "Run Cleaner", later click on "Registry" ---> "Scan for issues". After the scan click on "Review selected Issues", an offer to delete those entries will appear, do it.

Reboot your machine & search for leftover STL's files and folders in;

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\STL Tones (if that STL folder remains, delete it)

C:\Program Files\STL Tones (if that STL folder remains, delete it)

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins

C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST2

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3

C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins

C:\ProgramData\STL (if that STL folder remains, delete it)

C:\Users\Public\Documents\STL (if that STL folder remains, delete it)

%AppData%\STL Ignite - AmpHub

In Regedit;
Search for possible leftover STL Tones keys & entries and delete them. Run CCleaner again.

Now you can install any STL software again, but this time pull off your ethernet cable or disconnect the computer from any network. Run the KG as admin and search for the proper product in the KG list (I've made some mistakes about it in different circumstances...).

After install & validate any STL soft, execute it, if everything works I suggest to block every STL Tones related .exe by writing the following text and save it as a .bat file (eg.; Block STL Tones.bat);

################################################################################

@ setlocal enableextensions
@ cd /d "C:\Program Files\STL Tones"

for /R %%f in (*.exe) do (
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Blocked: %%f" dir=in program="%%f" action=block
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Blocked: %%f" dir=out program="%%f" action=block
)

pause

################################################################################

Once the file is made, execute it as Administrator.

Now you can return to internet, and hide your system's files & folders, if you want.

Hello! I want to say thanks again for all of the help. I followed all of the instructions and I got the same results in the end. I went through the registry for a long time until the find function wasn't showing anything before I proceded. I will wipe the drive when I get a chance and as soon as I install windows I will stay offline and try to install Tonehub before I do anything else and see if it works. The install files that I have for it seem to always work on PCs that have never had the program before, I feel like on my 2 PCs that I want it on, that one of my other cracked programs may be doing something. I will try and write back if it works with a fresh install. Thank you again for all of your help!!!

U'r welcome..., but that scenario is really strange! I've done several tests in 3 different systems & worked 100%. Hope u'll solve it.

I wiped Windows 11 on my laptop ssd and did a clean install with an offline account and before I even connected to the network I installed Tonehub and ran the keygen and it said it was patched and as soon as I opened the program it was showing the login info I had just entered and was asking to activate. I then wiped the ssd again and did another fresh install of Windows 11 and used a different installation of Tonehub that I had downloaded and the exact same thing happened. I am at a loss. I wish Tonehub was cheaper lol, I don't feel I play guitar enough to subscribe to it and the purchase option from them is very weak. Maybe the next cracked relase will work for me? Hopefully so!

If you are talking about this "STL Tones ToneHub v2.0.8.2024.05 Incl Patched and Keygen-R2R" release, & u'r following the R2R's guide in a fresh system scenario, or following that I've wrote in a "battered" system, what you say is simply impossible.

That is the scenario I faced, twice, on two different wipes and fresh installs of Win11 23H2 that I had downloaded from microsoft.com and used rufus to create a bootable installer and wiped my ssd before fresh installation each time. I have the version you mentioned, (I just tried to redownload it again and it is unavailable right now), but I also have an older version that I noted that I downloaded in 11.23.2023 - this is the install that I have on my friend's pc, and my two other pcs that I don't really need them on. I am not sure if my install files are corupt but when I extract them in winrar or 7zip they give no errors. I am currently making a rufus installer with Win 10 and will try that and then if it works just upgrade to Win 11 and if not, then I'm back where I am now lol. I will post back with my results. Thank you again for all of your help with this!

...well, I just can tell you that (for me, in my own experience) Win 11 23H2 is full of bugs. If you want a well known stable system please install Win 10 22H2. Don't forget to disable completely Windows Defender before run the KGen (I forgot this detail in my extensive comments...) And, obviously, purchase STL Tones when you can, it worths those bucks.

Edit; I think I just realized why it didn't work for you; one of the very bad Win 11 23H2 updates disables user control over Windows Defender, but the antivirus keeps running and doesn't report its actions, it doesn't remove the keygens but it doesn't let them modify anything where they should affect.

Sorry for the late replys (I haven't been on here for a bit!) I just decided to try and wipe my laptop and try again. I launched the Win11 (23H2) installer, clicked shift f10, typed in the commands to bypass secure boot and tpm check, Installed Win11, and then when initial setup launched, I pressed shift f10 again and entered the cmd to bypass microsoft account login, and my laptop drivers were not installed yet, so the device has zero internet connection at all. Then after getting into the window desktop, I clicked on windows defender and turned everything off that I could, and then, I inserted my usb, installed 7 zip, installed microsoft runtime that was included with my ToneHub download folder, and then proceded with the ToneHub installation and when I double clicked on the new ToneHub icon on my desktop --- THE APP FINALLY OPENED UP WITH OUT ASKING FOR LOGIN INFO!!!! Now if I can only get my main studio PC to take the installation :)

Thanks for all of the help, feedback and replies!!!

Could help even more, just in case, if you set your hosts file as "Read only", after modify it. I saw some plugins modifying the hosts just a second after execute them, while connected to the net.

I just saw your comment, and I grabbed my laptop to do the suggestions that you just mentioned and ToneHub is now asking for login info! DAMMIT LMAO! When I get another chance I will wipe it, and try your method and see if it doesn't change back on me. If it does I will install the last Windows 10 and try it. I would like to keep it current just in case future plugins being released be difficult and only work in Win 11 or 12. Thanks again!

If you read the thread under the 1st Revalver 5 release, u'll find that machines managed through win 11 OS hadn't any troubles about the license, while win 10 machines needed an usb stick with a copy of the license inside..., toooo many things far beyond my capabilities

DAMMIT LOL. Thank you for saving me the time -- I've been so busy lately.... Maybe its time to download the Chinese Win 11 installer lol. I saw it is the most barebones Win 11 edition and I believe they said it is without Windows Defender. Windows 12 is probably going to be a real bitch when it drops

🀦🏿🀦🏿 Oh FFS.. as I have already posted several times in this thread and after 5 years you should know by now, posting "dead links" and/or "RE-UP" requests in comments is against Audioz rules. Your comments will be temporarily frozen for this.

As a Member, if you find all links are dead, please use PM to contact the releaser and ask for new links. If the releaser is no longer active here, as the last resort, you can PM PiRAT and ask him to do it.

I've also never had any luck with R2R's Tonehub (although amphub works just fine), just curious what did you change which ended up causing the laptop to revert back to asking for the login info?

I've also been trying to trace what is causing this issue to happen and found that using Sysmon, the STL Tonehub is calling to weird ip address and locations like to a server by vMix (a video switching software) while my other comps see that it can be calling to some amazon webservers.

Some months ago I've started to pay attention to all calls tryin' to get out from the .EXEs, .APPs, .DLLs, .CLAPs, .AUs & VSTs. I'm not 100% sure if all of those calls means something relevant about disable our non legit softwares, but for sure I've achieved to let flawlessly work some of the known "non working medicines" for many of us, as Line 6 Helix Native v3.71, for example. I ussually add the www. prefix to the next lines after duplicate them, 'cause I've seen that sometimes the 0.0.0.0 block is not enough, eg.;

0.0.0.0 activation.paceap.com
0.0.0.0 www.activation.paceap.com

Another important detail; I've seen Bogren Digital & Aurora DSP modifying the hosts file (among others...), so if you make mods to your hosts file is highly suggested to turn it into "Read only" after the mod.

tried this but also didn't work. I really doubt its got anything to do with hosts file as my other computers never had the need to block via firewall or hosts to make Tonehub work.

If you deleted all traces of the V.R release and there is nothing left in the Public Documents/STL, AppData/Roaming/STL folders, plus you blocked "userarea.stltones.com" (hosts file) and it still doesn't work, then I have one question : are you using Win 11? Because if I remember correctly, those who had a similar problem lately with R2R STL releases use Win 11.
  Member 11.06.2024 8

I'm on 10, yes the user area is also blocked. this is quite a common problem with quite a number of people actually, i've been following the R2R releases for tonehub since the beginning and have always seen people facing this issue.

Spread the Word
