this version does not allow me to open the driver selection window opening with the N key, appears AAE Error -6117

yes, doesn't work with asio4all, like the previous 12.3.1
but works with "legit" ASIO driver

Try to restart your PC... if that not helping then you need to install Avid HD driver. You can find driver in folder Drivers :) Just install driver and run again. I have similar situation.

I think Avid's days of romance with Pro-tools are numbered, what with this release and their hideous subscription model and let's not even talk about the cost of collaborating. LMFAO!
I'm a legit user and haven't even upgraded for free.
Edit: It's not even free to update anymore either, unless you're a HD user.

This is not a request, of course, but I wonder how much code/specifications/etc , both Ilok2 dongle and elicenser dongle do share.
Could the '20000' hours man turn into 100 or 200, now that they know how some doors are closed, how a license manager communicates with the usb dongle , etc etc...

I'm a student and my school gives me a free version of Pro Tools but all the licensing and iloks and everything is so clunky I'm using this instead. I have a legit HD license but this is just so much quicker and more efficient. No more "oh no, where's the Decapitator ilok!" while I have a client waiting on the clock. Pro Tools is so dated and clunky. Avid's lucky they were first on the scene because everything I do in Pro Tools I can do in Ableton, except faster. Once all us young kids grow up, it's bye bye Pro Tools! Everyone's going to bring portable versions of their DAW to the studio and none of them are going to be bringing Pro Tools.
