A witch says,
Recent years, we have more troubles with un-signed binary.
From 10,000 release, we decided to sign our tools (emulator, system DLL, other utility) with our own signature.

If you are a heavy R2R release user, this certificate may help you!
Note that we sign only installable binary. We don't sign one time medicine like patch or keygen. Test tool is also included :)
Nice google keywords :
"Windows root certificate install"
"certmgr import root certificate"

I dont know how to install it, i tried all but when i run their new installer again it is giving me a UNKNOWN publisher. But i think they had to do this for to protect their releases and besides that Windows 11 it is coming on its way and with tpm 2.0 module, no verified installers could not be run. in other words Microsoft is more and more against programs piracy, so from now on unverified publishers \ cracked programs could not be run.
Correct me if i am wrong , but that could be one of the reasons for creating this... But still doesn't works for me even if if installed certificate thru mmc console ...

Hi
Root certificates are public key certificates that help your browser determine whether communication with a website is genuine and is based upon whether the issuing authority is trusted and if the digital certificate remains valid.

If a digital certificate is not from a trusted authority, you’ll get an error message along the lines of “There is a problem with this website’s security certificate” and the browser might block communication with the website.

This is the case for web certificates, but this is an OS certificate.
It should validate executables files and make them "trusted" ones by Windows system.
Maybe a way to turn their installers from "yellow" (untrusted) to "blue" (verified company) during the install process.

I am not going to install this.
I will NOT give any software cracker a way to completely "own" my computer and the opportunity do whatever they want with it.

Read this article and think twice before you even consider installing this Windows Root Certificate from R2R (or any software cracker).
https://blog.malwarebytes.com/security-world/technology/2017/11/when-you-shouldnt-trust-a-trusted-root-certificate/

Big thanks R2R for all the stuff last years but as you mention from now on you will only release software that relies on this Windows Root Certificate system i will not download any new releases anymore.

I understand your explanation, but, After all these years, R2R will not use malware against the community.

Trust no one ;)

My use of new releases from R2R will stop here today.
I don't say they have bad intentions but seriously this is giving away toplevel admin rights to your complete computer, even more admin rights than you will have yourself!
Weird scary stuff can happen on the background, even while you don't notice it.
This can be very very nasty stuff which no one should ever use, whether it is from R2R or whatever.

Press the Windows or Start button, then type “MMC” into the run box. This will launch Microsoft Management Console
Select File, then Add/Remove Snap-In
Click the Certificates heading in the console tree that contains the root certificate to you want to delete.
Select the certificate that you want to delete.
In the Action menu, click Delete.
Click Yes.

If you trust no one then you should never use keygen or patches, many times malwares are hidden in keygen or crack executables ...

I don't know why my post got deleted.
It was a neutral, important and topic related post that mostly for all user which installed a Team V.R. release (maybe a specific one, not all*) already got a cert installed!

Seems Team V.R. cert gets installed with the Steinborg stuff..

Installed Steinborg Backbone only. Deleted the TeamVR cert fom user cert storage and Backbone still works. I recommed to delete the TeamVR cert.

Always install a cert only if you really need it, doesn't matter if R2R or TeamVR!

I've looked in my 'Trusted Root Certificate Authorities/Certificates' folder in certmgr.exe, and I have about 70 certificates - how do I know which ones are trustworthy? 13 of them say 'All' in the 'Intended Purposes' column, almost all the rest say 'Client Authentication, Code Signing, Encrypting File System, Secure Email, IP security tunnel termination, IP security user, Server Authentication, Time Stamping." I didn't know these even existed on my computer until today!

Also to protect the R2R name and their reputation from other "fake r2r crack" that have malwares or just cash grab.

I imported the certificate, on the .txt file is written:
"R2RCERTEST.exe :
Just run and you can check the installation of certificate."
but if i run the .exe file it says "R2R Root certificate is not installed, or this application is modified and broken".

Edit: solved, the instruction on a site said to put in on the "Third-Party Root Certification Authorities" folder which is not the correct one, the right folder is "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"

Where do you find the certs (what location) to delete them?

For any others scratching their heads as I did for a while, here's a proper 'step-by-step' to install this certificate in the right directory using only the tools in the provided package. Some of the steps may seem obvious but I sometimes (ok, often) need this level of granular detail :)

1. Run R2RCA.cer
2. Select 'Install Certificate'
3. Select 'Local Machine'
4. Hit 'Next'
5. Select 'Place all certificates in the following store'
6. Hit 'Browse' button
7. Select 'Trusted Root Certificate Authorities' and hit 'OK'
8. Hit 'Next'
9. Hit 'Finish'
10. 'Import Successful' message will appear
11. Finally, run R2RCERTEST.exe which will confirm certificate is installed

Hope this helps.
In two days time tomorrow will be yesterday and it will be too late.
