Based on our proprietary SWAM-S engine, a powerful Physical Modeling technology derived from the Digital Waveguides approach.

SWAM-S stands for Synchronous Waves Acoustic Modeling – Strings.

Differently from SWAM, sound is generated by pure Physical Modeling, so there are no samples at all.

We have performed an in-depth study of the Physical Modeling techniques, especially the Digital Waveguides Synthesis by prof. Julius O. Smith. Using this technique, adding new elements and performing an unceasing fine-tuning, we have built the best modeled Bowed Strings virtual instruments on the market, allowing the real-time control of bow speed, bow pressure, bow position, vibrato, portamento, harmonics, tremolo, pizzicato, and many other parameters in a realistic way, almost indistinguishable from the real instrument.

It's a synth. It uses Physical Modeling science/mathematics to achieve the sound. This works better on woodwinds and tuned percussion, but they have come a long way here. Modo Bass is another amazing modeled instrument.

Anyone else having problems extracting this and the other SWAM archives from today? Using 7zip, the arechives can't be opened or extracted... thanks :)

7zip was the problem as suggested in one of the other SWAM threads - the archive did extract using Winrar! thanks.

Some violinist will say, I prefer to hear the pure authentic sound of a legitimate Italian Stradivarius.

Others will say, the virtual, keyboards will never produce the real sound even by sampling the originals.

I say quite the contrary, listen to the greatest violinist in the world Itzhak Perlman, and the horrible sound he managed to destroy one of the most famous violin concertos.

I will never forget my counterpoint teacher who was a pupil of Ennio Morricone, when he said: "It is not that keyboards or Midi devices are bad, but, the way the frequencies of these platforms are reached."

Today, after 28 years, they do something smaller and better than SoundFont violins: * .SBK, * .SB2, * .SF2, developed in the 90s by E-mu Sstems & Creative Labs.

Friends but in the absence of harware controller, can I use it as a simple VSTI from my external midi keyboard?

I'm trying from CUBASE but it tells me that it does not recognize the expression

can someone give me an indication of the setting to make it work only via Midi normally? thank you

I cannot get the cure to hold. As soon as I close the instrument and open it again it says the trial period is over and I need to buy.
Anyone else having this issue?

Not properly cracked. If you switch to pizzicato mode there is no way to go back to bowed mode.

Are you sure this is because of the crack?
