Native Instruments Enhanced EQ v1.0.0 screenshot
R2R | 15.9.2012 | 101.4 MB
ENHANCED EQ is a unique, easy-to-use effect that will provide your tracks with the analog sound of the masters – equally potent at adding subtle definition as rich loudness. Modeled from a boutique studio standard, this is the go-to EQ for warmth, body and definition at the bottom end of your mix, or for crisping up the midrange. Emulated by the masters at Softube, ENHANCED EQ has a character and presence recognizable from a vast number of top productions.

Now NI brings you this secret weapon as a native plug-in for the first time, running individually in your DAW, and ready to enliven and enhance your music.

Over 100mb for an EQ? What did they put in here?!

Its not extra sophisticated code, that much i can tell you.

(The 32bit DLLs of these NI/Softube plugs are all only between 23 and 25MB, the rest is format duplicates and unneeded crap.)

Speaking of crap, if you hate polluting your system with shit you dont need, do what i did and reduce the setup to the absolute minimum. (I for one do that wherever i can.) If you do not need any presets or a manual you can simply just extract the DLLs from the installers and drop them into your plugins folder. If you cant do without presets and manuals extract them too, the rest such as Service Center and the tons of installer related crap is of no use. Registry entries arent needed either, unless you insist on being able to call up the manual from the GUI.

Minimal setup, 3-in-1 package, quick instructions:

Create a folder in your plugins dir, name it whatever you want, put the 3 DLLs in. Create a subfolder named Documentation in the folder, put the 3 manuals in. (But dont rename them.) Create 3 folders in Common Files\Native Instruments, name them after the DLLs and put the preset files in. If you dont care whether you can call up the manuals from the GUI youre done. If you do care, create the following registry keys and adapt the paths (string values) as required:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Enhanced EQ]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Studio\\VSTPlugins\\NameOfDLLFolder"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Passive EQ]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Studio\\VSTPlugins\\NameOfDLLFolder"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Vari Comp]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Studio\\VSTPlugins\\NameOfDLLFolder"

Notes: Since the path to the Documentation folder is hardcoded after the reg-entries, the folder thats holding the manuals MUST be named Documentation. Also you must NOT rename the PDFs. Otherwise the plugins wont find the manuals even if you create the above reg-entries. The same goes for the presets folders. Since the paths to them are hardcoded as well (the installer creates a content path entry but its useless) the presets folders MUST be named after the DLLs (their original names!) and they MUST be put in Common Files\Native Instruments. Otherwise they will not be found, content path entry or not.

Thats all, enjoy your 3-in-1 and a much cleaner system.

sotho,
It's all based on Manley gear. The NI Enhanced EQ is a Manley Enhanced Pultec-style

The other two are a Manley Massive Passive, and the compressor is a Manley Variable MU (usually just referred to as 'Vari-Mu').

Shastra, I'm a Mac user as well but you're making an ass yourself. There is no point in asking in every bloody NI-related thread, 'Mac when'.

Mac when, depends on how hard the copyright protection scheme is to crack, and whether someone is willing to have a go at it. If it's fairly straight forward, a couple of days. If not, you'll have to wait some weeks or even months. If you keep trolling the board you'll only serve two purposes. Firstly, you're reinforcing stupid prejudices and stereotypes about Mac-users (which are certainly much in evidence here). Secondly, you'll p*ss off the crackers who will then keep you waiting for an extra week or so.

Your life does not depend on this software. headbang

Well if you have Windows on your Mac, than just install the Windows version, and stop asking for Mac!

You really making a complete fool of yourself here.

Arguing for days for something, which you should see by now was idiotic.
But no, you keep going and going...
Like a madman.

You thanked Feridan for his post, who said you are making an ass of yourself.
Please REALISE this, UNDERSTAND it, and act accordingly.
If you continue here, you become a clown.
