VARI COMP is an all-purpose, easy-to-use, two-channel compressor with breathtakingly transparent sound. Modeled on the sound of boutique high-end studio gear, this first-ever software emulation adds high-pass sidechaining and parallel compression – all while running as a stand-alone plug-in inside your DAW. Highly usable and full of rich, natural sound, VARI COMP delivers the warmth and presence of top-of-the-line tube-powered hardware.

@ Gulliver,

But 100 MB for a compressor? And for the EQs as well?
What the hell is inside? lol

And even more when you'll uncompress them as you'll see...
They come in '.bin' format to mount or burn, and each of these 3 Plug-Ins weigh more or less 200 MB (even if some '.bin' images lead to slighter small files after extraction).

@ Shastra,

OSX??? When???

Tomorrow... or as said in French : 'A la Saint Glin-Glin' ! rofl

@ ScarletSky,

...share those demos, won't you?

Why you don't directly go to the 'Official' Native Instruments Website (simply use the Link provided by 'Funtime'), then click on 'Download Demo'. You'll be asked to fulfill a form with a valid e-mail address,
select your desired OS (MAC OSX), then less than 5 min. after,
you get a direct 'Download Link' within your Message Box (provide a valid e-mail, of course !).
As easy as that... and you can play with it by steps of 30 min.

[Edit]

I will shorten my rant up: Asking for OSX/mac is useless and annoying for other users. PLZ do not do it. If so do it in Request section not in comments. Ok? It has been said so many times...

If it's out in the net, you will find it here very soon. You will not miss a release if you come here. People will upload everything they find. Cause there is so much love, some love to share, some love the mo.

@ STUDIO555 AND SHASTRA: I understood by "demos" as the example sound files that you listen
on the official page. I'd like to download those. Thanks.

@ Shastra,

The point is not the fact that you ask for a certain version (in this case,
the 'MAC OSX' version), and as you so well stated it :

and even there's a request posting option in this forum

So, I think that your requests will be more well perceived and acknowledged if they would be written in the right place...
For this 'Premium Tube Series', an other user has posted his request yesterday, but in the right place : 'Requests' Section !
I know what I say, because I even answered him that it was a bit to quick to ask for it... but at a first glance, it seems that I was wrong, because this 'Series' is available since today.

There's one detail of which you must to pay attention, and you can find it at the bottom of an uploader's article, as within this article of 'Funtime' :

performed by funtime in software » Win

As you can clearly see it, this article is performed in the 'WIN' part of the Software Section, so this indicates ONLY FOR WIN !
And it's this fact that can irritate some 'WIN' users when seeing, day after day, MAC OSX users still asking for a MAC version in the wrong place... nothing more. yes
I also know that when you see the 'Main Page' ('Fresh Releases') of AudioZ, you can't to see it at a first glance, but once entered in the proper page, you can simply pay more attention at this detail...

I LOVE THAT CLEAR GUI but..... Have you seen that it's very high on CPU (About 20 %)
It's too much!
I don't now if the demo has got the same problem but we can't use a plugin as greedy as this one!

LV-426,

Be the spark that will ignite the passion, teach the art of reverse-engineering to this generation.

Same answer here: Its not extra sophisticated code, that much i can tell you.

(The 32bit DLLs of these NI/Softube plugs are all only between 23 and 25MB, the rest is format duplicates and unneeded crap.)

Speaking of crap, if you hate polluting your system with shit you dont need, do what i did and reduce the setup to the absolute minimum. (I for one do that wherever i can.) If you do not need any presets or a manual you can simply just extract the DLLs from the installers and drop them into your plugins folder. If you cant do without presets and manuals extract them too, the rest such as Service Center and the tons of installer related crap is of no use. Registry entries arent needed either, unless you insist on being able to call up the manual from the GUI.

Minimal setup, 3-in-1 package, quick instructions:

Create a folder in your plugins dir, name it whatever you want, put the 3 DLLs in. Create a subfolder named Documentation in the folder, put the 3 manuals in. (But dont rename them.) Create 3 folders in Common Files\Native Instruments, name them after the DLLs and put the preset files in. If you dont care whether you can call up the manuals from the GUI youre done. If you do care, create the following registry keys and adapt the paths (string values) as required:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Enhanced EQ]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Studio\\VSTPlugins\\NameOfDLLFolder"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Passive EQ]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Studio\\VSTPlugins\\NameOfDLLFolder"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Vari Comp]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Studio\\VSTPlugins\\NameOfDLLFolder"

Notes: Since the path to the Documentation folder is hardcoded after the reg-entries, the folder thats holding the manuals MUST be named Documentation. Also you must NOT rename the PDFs. Otherwise the plugins wont find the manuals even if you create the above reg-entries. The same goes for the presets folders. Since the paths to them are hardcoded as well (the installer creates a content path entry but its useless) the presets folders MUST be named after the DLLs (their original names!) and they MUST be put in Common Files\Native Instruments. Otherwise they will not be found, content path entry or not.

Thats all, enjoy your 3-in-1 and a much cleaner system.
