sounds so authentic and good! but damn cpu usage limits it so much. some patches go straight to 100% cpu i guess you have to use this by bouncing out to wav. i wish there was ways to lower cpu usage!

windows 11 64 bit 32GB ram 9th Gen intel i7 9700kf (yes outdated But still a decent good cpu imo.) its just very cpu hungry as the description describes. wish it was similar to the Triton vst as that one is well done and not as cpu intensive. also i learned raising daws audio buffer settings makes huge difference on cpu usage.

You can't compare the Triton VST to this since the Synth was made 1999 and this one was made in 2023.

Its like comparing an Emulating of an Playstation1 which can be easily done against doing it with an PS5.

It sounds to me then using your PC as an example, the only way to run this software with as many instances as you could need, is to spend more on a computer than it would cost to actually BUY a Montage M!

Untrue. I'm using legit version flawlessly with Intel Ultra 9 285K and Studio One 6 Pro with 64 samples of latency and few instances. Also on most demanding multichannel patches

I have a Ryzen 3950X, 32 cores, I will download this and reply later with my results. Like the last comment said, not telling us what CPU you've got makes your post less helpful.

LOL. So I've just tested it - running in FL Studio, two instances of Cthulhu and two instances of Montage, with five to six notes running per Montage instance, takes 2.9% of my Ryzen 9 3950X.
Just to contradict the rubbish from OmaticDream "Oh my poor CPU can't cope because it's ten years old, therefore I wish there was a way to lower CPU usage."
CPU usage is VERY reasonable indeed. I only need three or four instances playing at a time, most of the time, for virtually all of my music, so that will be well under TEN PERCENT of CPU - you need a CPU that is fast enough, per CORE, to run Montage well, then there are no problems. On my Ryzen 9 3950X, the cores that it appears to be using are only going from about 10% to 25% tops - there are about four or five cores that are actually doing anything.
And as Taken said - I did post up a video where the guy clearly shows how much CPU it takes, and stresses it to 128 instances before there is any sound breakup.

Just to clarify something - somebody below said " you must copy "license-engine-access.dll" from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\TEAM R2R" to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager" and if you don't have that directory you create it)" - if you use the VR unlocker (the file is called "Activation Manager Unlocker b7.exe" and comes with the 'Steinberg Cubase Pro 14 v14.0.5 Incl V.R. it unlocks Montage very easily, and I presume it unlocks all other Steinberg releases (as it lists them while it unlocks Montage). So don't bother with the R2R Cubase unlocker, the V.R. one I listed above works perfectly.

nice to know. thanks for sharing. I have intel 4790k. ofcourse old and maybe that is the reason for the cpu usage. or maybe Ryzen works better with this vst.

HI, copy "license-engine-access.dll ....." is only for those have installed Cubase 12-13-14 with R2R Silk emulator and don't want install another unlocker they don't need.

If your cpu isn't supported, it won't work ever even unpacked from installer. Buy a newer cpu. Anything Intel Haswell or above (2013) has it.

The same goes for Ableton Live 12. Maxon Cinema 4D, and many other things.

You can download the free UniExtract and unpack it yourself. Doesn't mean it'll work on unsupported CPU though.

It is locked and it cannot get extracted.
Right now I cant get a new CPU, I tried Intel SDE AVX2 emulator but it doesnt work with this installer.

Its another single core VSTI made with JUCE framework, it dont support multithreading, its limited to use your CPU's 1 core thats why its another resource disaster like Serum. If you will load multiple instances you can use your CPU's other cores. (your DAW/host must support multithreading)

When you import first you need to import patches later perfomance, it dont import both in same time. You can import 16 library + 1 library to user banks section.

Yamaha website says Yamaha Montage (hardware) supports Motif XF, Motif ES, S90, S70. I tried Motif ES libraries but not worked with this VSTI, i dont know others.

Found Motif ES stock patches converted for Motif XF on Motifator, loaded into the VST just fine, all the old waveforms are present, nice to be able to revive my old Motif ES projects.

I think I found the Motifinator patches, problem is they are just the voices, and don't include the waveforms. There are differences between the ES waveforms and XF/XS/and so on waveforms....so some sounds may be different. If someone were to dump the ES/Classic patches from the keyboard, load them on an XF and upload them, then all the sounds would be fully available and archived.

There is folder icon on top menu (3. icon from left). If you want to load/import more than 16 libraries you can delete exist libraries from Settings > Data Utility > Library section. (right click on library icons)
