Does anyone know if this is still VST 2 and for Win 7 please?

Update :- This will replace the previous version according to the XLN Audio Website. all that has changed is the look. It will sound the same. Still VSTt2 and win7 for anyone else asking.

Only keep the Addictive Drums 2 Library folder, uninstall the software and plugins.


Go to your library folder,

delete the "App" folder and the "ADBV0002" subfolder inside of "Sound Data",

also delete the "AD2_Library_Placer.exe".


Download the same folders and file you deleted from the torrent

and put them in the library folder, then run "AD2_Library_Placer.exe".


Finally run the Setup and then the Keygen, that's it.

Didnt even had to run the library places exe everything worked anyway and why should'n it?
As i guess the library places is only an app that set the location you had to give when you install Addictive drums with the original installer in the registry.
I guess you could make edit in some registry key and Addicitive drummer would recognize the content?

Yeah you don't have to, I run it just in case, lol.

The library placer doesn't store the path in the registry.

It creates a file named "config.txt" under:
%ProgramData%\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums 2\App

That file contains the path to the library,
you can of course create/edit that file yourself,
that way you don't even need to run the library placer.

So the boost mode seems to be borrowed from Get Good Drums mixer. Not complaining, pretty cool and powerful option.

The big question is: When will they release new packs/kits?

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say not until Addictive Drums 3 comes out. I would also guess that will be as huge in size as SD3

Guys, after installation, it worked. after turn off and turn on again, it does not work. nothing pops up when i d-click ad2 icon... anyone can help ? :(

How did you manage to authorize? I get crashes and some weird errors when trying to run either standalone or vst.

edit: Finally made it to work after revo uninstalling everything xln, installing xln online installer, pick vst2 and vst3 folders (my usual vst2 custom folder and sustem vst3 folder). Uninstalling online installer. Then Placed library at desired location, clicked that library placer exe, then installed addictive drums, and selected vst2 folder, with no xln audio subfolder inside it. Then ran keygen, get machine id, register. and it started working.

In my case, when loading vst in cubase, it makes shut-down error and in standalone version, nothing apprears after double-click icon.
I used R2R (computer ID + Authorize) in zip file, nothing special.
So, i re-installed previous version which works well in my computer. Wish i could use new version :(

@yS.Lee You're not missing a great deal by using the old version. The sound is still the same, and from what I've seen so far, it uses less resources too. I don't remember the kits using any more than about 10% maybe 12 or 13 at a push, but some of the kits I've tried are using 26/27%

Yo did you manage to make it work ? I got the same problems. It worked when I install and then after I restarted my computer it didn't open the plugin and the app . I am in FL tho . :(
