I had the original version. I did an uninstall. It gives me an error that it won't start AD2.

Uninstalled previous version fully (Win 11)

Installed and registered fine, but standalone wouldn't open,
and crashed Cubase 12 pro (legit version)

For Oly this was the most realistic battery library

I'm not 100% sure, but I guess Win 11 23H2 has become the most buggy SO about plugins, If this isn't your xperience feel free to correct me. I'm saying this 'cause I confirm as imperative to describe the system as well as the cpu & installed VC runtimes in case of problems about any release. This way u'll get closer to a possible solution, we'll achieve some sort of statistics in order to share helping experiences. I know this should be a sister's site topic (AGAIN), many times has been recalled, but it seems too hard to get it known by this growing community. Perhaps this topic should be one of the AUDIOZ rules.

I'm on Windows 11 23h2 with literal thousands of working plugins, on 2 separate machines. People are far too quick to cry Windows when they should go through the steps to make something again tbh.

U're partially right, yes, but I've found more than once Win 11 OSs with WD strange behaviors, not offering to be disabled, acting silently, leting any kg to be executed but not allowing (silently) the changes that those keygens are made for. Perhaps I'm severely wrong, but in my experience Win 11 is still bugger than Win 10 22H2. I remember absolutely annoying older Win 10 versions too... I guess this is "normal" in any OS evolving development.

First of all..big shoutouts to team r2r for making me happy again! Just installed this version the minute i noticed it. My favourite for my e-drums. Win 11 22H2 (22621.4317), used REVO to uninstall and clean old AD, deleted the existing library (folder Addictive Drums 2). No more than that. Followed the notes from R2R and everything working fine (Ableton still indexing) but works in other vst hosts like BC PAtchwork in vst2 and vst3. My own old keymaps still show up and though i don't like the GUI at first sight, the sound and loading time is still top notch. Easy to use and great to impress my friends with some blistering metal drumming! The metal kits are great. Thanks R2R! Ableton 11 fine and very low cpu use..great!

Wish there was a scaling setting between 75% and 100%. The plugin seems to function okay but a little bit slow on opening. Ableton 11

Finally made it to work after revo uninstalling everything xln, installing xln online installer, pick vst2 and vst3 folders (my usual vst2 custom folder and system vst3 folder). Uninstalling online installer. Then Placed library at desired location, clicked that library placer exe, then installed addictive drums, and selected vst2 folder, with no xln audio subfolder inside it. Then ran keygen, get machine id, register. and it started working.

For those who are having problems updating from Previous version to this, I have created a step list to follow, based on what @Dark Knight said on the first page:-

1) uninstall Ad2 (it will leave behind settings and library)

2) goto the Library Folder containing 'AD2_Library_Placer'

3) Remove the 'App' Folder altogether

4) Go into the 'Sound Data' Folder

5) Locate and remove the 'ADBV0002' folder

6) Remove 'AD2_Library_Placer'

7) Replace NEW (App folder/ ADBV0002 folder/ AD2_Library_Placer) to the same positions as before

8) Run 'AD2_Library_Placer'

9) Install New Version

10) Install Keygen

I fixed the plugin and the standalone by removing the config.txt from C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums 2\App and running AD2_Library_Placer again.

install #1 on Ryzen Windows 11, bulk uninstaller all XLN, reg clean, clean install: failed to open

install #2 on Intel i9 Windows 10, bulk uninstaller, clean reg, clean install: success, running fine in Ableton 12.1 and Studio 7.0

+1 to the comments about Win 11 being the potential bugaboo, better luck on Win 10

thx for the share

Thx for specify the whole stuff, this way we'll be nearest to possible solutions. We've gotta find why the fails happens. I've found that sometimes the Witches & Wizards flawlessly achieve their cracks in certain systems, and this is logical, we can't pretend them to have a whole cyber cafe in order to achieve super multi-platform medicines, this is when the rest of community collaboration means a lot.

I removed my old AD2 using Revo Pro and installed this new one as per instuctions.

When trying to run AD2 standalone I get the following error:

"Sorry! A serious error occurred.
Please run the XLN Online Installer and install any available updates or repairs to the software.
If the problem persists, please contact XLN Audio Support at xlnaudio.com/support

----------

Error Information:

cCottonInstance::doBoot() FAILED! exception: no such file

Any assistance appreciated. Using Win 11 version 23H2
