Me too. I record and mix a lot of urbad vocals, and the CL1B is the compressor for the genre. Until now, it is Softube, but Tim has made some of the best compressors in the box. I have my money waiting:)

I prefer the Neold U2A over the CL1B. Anyway, I have different way of compressing vox, might have had discussed it with @TravelWornSatchel before at AudioSex.

Well, lets see.. is "Purple" a plugin(s) by AA? Yes. Is saying "maybe I can dream about purple" a request, it sure reads like one.

So why mention that here anyway, its off topic and you could use our search function to find / post it in the correct request page comments where it really matters and crackers and teams will actually see it? Posting this here is against the rules and annoys other members/teams (as the report I received is testament to). Just sayin.

From the comparison videos I've seen (Ultramarine, Magenta, etc..) AA came out either as the best or just as good. I never understood the hate against the plugins themselves; I know the company is shit, but, hey, you have 1000s others to choose from:)

No need to compare them with videos and if installed you can compare them thanks to R2R. High volume, high consumption.. next to Alliance and Softube, they have nothing to say and their value is not that much. For acoustics, you need a $10,000 computer. Skip the videos so you can touch and feel your project

We have different ears, I guess - no biggie, use Softube, I do...I have Console 1, and UAD is my main system..so, you do you, brother:)

And exactly, you need a strong computer, but with my Ryzon AMD CPU, a computer that cost me no more than 2k, it runs very well...until you start to add AA on all tracks, than it shits the bed. I only use AA/Nebula for color here and there:)

recording and mixing with acustica in 96k isnt fun. have to pick and chose a few from them, on every track its a nightmare. i started buying analog cause i was sick of acustica killing my projects

for most stuff they're better than almost anyone. if your computer can't hold it, it doesn't mean the plugins are crap. buy a better computer. you can't have "studio" sound with a basement computer. and even these are not on par with the hardware. the calculations needed for that would require a nasa server. but they're closer than anybody else. among the very few that have the right texture.

Agreed! Even with a lesser computer, AA works fine with Reaper and its many options to freeze in stages per track. True with Nebula plugins as well. Not sure if I have many uses for this particular plugin but I'll give it a try. It's always worth a try with AA plugins. There are definitely some gems in their offerings.
