it's too early/not enough caffeine to get a full audible chuckle out of me, but you did get a smirk out of me ArabianJesus hahaha. I'll tell everyone my anti-virus technique- just make it so your bank account and identity are worth nothing and that way if anyone hacks your shit they're basically doing you a favor!

Keeping that in mind, I've been sorely disappointed with this site. I keep waiting to for an email saying DECiBELLE has stolen the 6 dollars in my bank along with my bills and poor credit rating, instead I just keep getting VST's that help make my otherwise dreadful days more tolerable!

You're here since 2018. made 5 comments, and 3 of them are about false positive in R2R releases posted by renowned posters...
It seems like a pattern to me...
Learn once for all how anti virus works, and you'll understand that there is no threat in these releases.

So, for you, this is a detailed explanation:
The problem with virus total and R2R (and in general audio cracks) it's that it includes Heuristic detection.
This detection is based on the possible behavior of a file, opposed to referring to a virus database.
This is a good protection, theoretically as it can detect malware that is not yet known, so not in the malware database.
But, it also confuse patchers, that will modify an executable, with malware and give false positive, that's why virus total is not usable when scanning R2R material.

There is a big difference between patcher and keygen. Keygen only shouldn't rise any flags with AV's, since you get request from the plugin and a response with a keygen. Patcher implies that it will patch some code within a "clean" file, like a .dll, to make it accept generated keys, or even bypass keying step. This in almost every case will trigger AV response. I'm not sure what Patched and Keygen implies (is the file pre-patched to accept keygens or scenario I've mentioned above).
