WiN | 15.25 MB
Lore is an advanced sound design workstation inspired by musique concrète, microsound and other pioneering sound technologies of the past several decades. It combines spectral and granular engines along with several other features designed to unleash the power of microsonic resynthesis.

In the archive, you will find the following plugins (a few more were included in the GitHub repository), i.e.

* Ember
* Klome
* Lore Experimental Sound Console
* Paradigm
* SpectralDelay
* Strom
* Voga

For more information and to grab the sources, see https://github.com/micah-frank-studio/Lore

All plugins are in Windows x64 VST2 format only (I will consider making VST3 binaries in the future).

If you want to build the plugins on your own, you will need Cabbage and GitHub for Windows.

Installation:

Copy all the files in the VST2 archive to your default Vst2 location.

I tested the plugins in Ableton 11.1 and everything has been working fine. Beware that I'm sharing the archive as is and I'm taking no responsibility for problems you may encounter when using the plugins.

Please, report bugs to the developer.

This doesn't get picked up when I rescan my VST plugins.
Something I am missing?
I copied the folder as per instructions...

And your DAW is?...

Same here, on Studio One 5, the plugins aren't detected.

Are they Ableton specific?

No, nothing is DAW specific here. It's Csound after all. ;)

even on Live 11.1 same as yours: it first scans but later plugins do not show up in list.

Not working for me even after multiple rescans. Ableton Live 10.1.40 64bit Win 10

Edit: Thanks to FriedKiwi's suggestion. Installed Cabbage and copied an instance of csound64.dll alongside each DLL. Then I opened Ableton and it immediately scanned them as new plugins.

After some testing, I found the Ember and Lore more interesting. The rest had their own signal generator and felt limiting for my taste. Lore has something unique to it, especially with how you can play around with the routing of the Spectral and Granular modulations (parallel, spec>grain, or grain>spec). Going to wait until they release a full manual and/or until they get to add some features I'm interested in (ie: spectral freeze); then probably grab it by then.

Thanks line.level for posting (wouldn't have known about this one) and to FriedKiwi for the workaround!

Not working (no showing) on Live 11.1 too

Do you have Csound installed on your system? (See FriedKiwi's post below.)

(If just testing) You will need a copy of the csound64.dll alongside each DLL. This is the runtime these need to work.
Get it from the csound Win x64 binaries csound.com.

Or (easier way, no copying DLLs) install a framework for it Cabbage (and along the way learn to create your own VST! ).

putting csound64.dll alongside each dll didn't work for me however putting csound64.dll in the windows/system32 folder did the trick
make music, not walls.

I'm afraid I can't help much here (see the disclaimer above). I'm not a developer, I'm just sharing what I was asked for. The good news is I pulled the most recent code (there were some minor changes introduced, nothing of crucial importance really), I built Vst2s & Vst3s, and both are working for me (Ableton 11.1 & Cantabile Lite I downloaded only for testing purposes). If you want to give it a spin -- especially the Vst3s -- you can download the archives. Again, you need all the files in the subdirectories, including the *.csd. What you may also want to do is rescan your plugins the "hard way", i.e. recreate the entire plugins cache, not just add what's new. Last but not least, check out FriedKiwi's response and install a copy of Csound (thanks!).

Good luck!

Working in Win7 x64 w VST2 just posted by line.level
I had inst Csound 6.17.0 last night but the DLLs from the original post would not appear in dVstHost when dragged in. Now with the 2nd download they do. (Maybe had I rebooted after inst Csound the original post could have been working too.)

Tested in dVstHost64 1.57
All VSTi dlls are working.
c64sound.dll not copied to dll dirs
Csound was added to my system Path by its installer (it asked permission).
Some wav source files crash dVstHost.
Thanks for posting. I was not aware of Csound. I will explore its MIDI features soon.
good right just fair share care aware air everywhere

I believe your environmental variables weren't loaded properly before you rebooted and hence the Csound executable wasn't accessible for the plugins. My bad I didn't mention Csound was necessary: it's always present on my system and that's why I didn't even think about it...

Voga, Paradigm and Klome make a really cute sound.
But it plays by itself. It just runs by itself in the background.
You can change the key with the keyboard,
but its just running in the background.

Shame, because it does make a cute sound. These can be reprogrammed in cabbage?
Somebody should just turn off the auto run and make it a pleasant playable sound generator.
