thanks R2R for mac release

is this better than waves one?
  Member 28.11.2016 733
Everything is better than the waves one, come on! Softube, This and many others. Oh, and they are ALL different from one another just like the hardware they emulate. But waves are very poor in general with most of their ANALOG emus in 2021 vs the competition. I used noiseash pultec for a good while but ended up moving to the NEW softube (MK2) tubetech - different unit for sure but for me sounded better and worked better (and less CPU hungry). Get the softube eqs/CL1B mk2!
  Member 8.04.2020 12 43
Mostly i use eq1a for the low end trick. Waves one was ok i just wanted to know if this sounds better since tubetech wasn't released for mac.
  Member 13.12.2020 34
Serioulsy everything is better that then waves one.. For me Purple from Acustica Audio is top with second place Softube's Tube Tech together with Coffee the Pun which is free again from Acustica Audio and third the one from UAD.

If you have CPU problems go for Softube's it really sounds great. If not go for Acustica Audio it has the most warm sound than anything else.

amazing to see how many of them want to dart in with their own pultec emulation into this over saturated vsti fx plugin market as we know it. how many other devs and companies tried to replicate this classic pultec eq out there? im sold out and only trust to UAD and i use one of their. why this one or else would pretend to be better? how many more pultec emulations we shall expect to see in the future? ffs, to all the devs out there i know you are reading us here, please ENOUGH with pultec eq emulation!! bring us something new, different and innovative instead. i have to waste my energy and time on downloading this and try it out... thanks to R2R anyways.

Voidhead No need for personal attack here. Also, you misunderstood his comment. He is complaining about developer not being innovative. He is not complaining about AudioZ.

This isn't a question of 'better'. Neither the hardware units, nor their emus sound the same.
Additionally, some of us poor suckers don't have a UAD card and therefore have to rely on 'cheapo' VST versions if we want to use one.
  Resident 5.05.2011 751
...and as well, ignorance is bliss. This Dev has been out with this set for at least two years and probably longer, so there was no darting in this instance...enjoy your UAD, and maybe you could buy No Avenger and I each one, that would be awesome of you.
Music is always a commentary on society.

the only thing oversaturated is your bloated sense of plugin elitism
  Member 17.11.2013 179
The Neve, Manley, Lexicon, SSL, and nearly every valued analog hardware outboard module emulation(s) are becoming regular. I do not see that as a bad thing. The whole point of R2R is 'Try before you buy'. In many ways, AudioZ has become a relatively central location to try things out. Sure, some of them are not amazing but some developers have worked a little bit of magic into creating a software emulation of hardware. Some recreations in vst form are perceived by some people as not better than UAD and some equal or even better. The RND Portico plugins for example have been bench tested against their hardware counterpoints with nominal difference. If we do not try out different plugins, it is impossible to know which one will best suit our workflow. I think it is a good thing to have choices.

Hey gtrash, it was just friendly banter, I didn’t mean anything by it. I get what you’re saying and I agree with you
  Member 12.02.2019 83
Even if UAD got cracked, 80% of people around here would still be chasing down the next Pultec emulation days later. Face it, it used to be about making music, now it's about chasing your own tail.
Don't think this whole 'free' game comes without strings attached.

I bought the klark teknik eqpkt pultec and it smokes any plugin emulation, yet costs about the same as the UAD plugin.
  Member 25.02.2014 236
Makes total sense to buy the hardware.
I have amassed a load of hardware, both vintage and new. Software is still great, but getting to choose between the two is even better.
I am using a Mac - 10.11.6.
  Member 5.12.2020 1 49
I kinda like this one, it adds some distorsion just sitting on the master bus, a bit more than the softube one. Then, each to their own but in the pultec style plugin jungle, i find this one really enjoyable
  Member 1.03.2014 381
True. It fees more like hardware, it has a personality, softube is clean but boring imo.
  Resident 24.07.2019 14 327
Didn't know that Softube's Tubetec stuff was completely clean, but you are correct. No saturation whatsoever! Might be the reason why I've always liked this one much better This is probably my favorite pultec, with the IK EQP-1A a very close second. Their curves are a bit different, with the IK one being less smooth in the highs and the Noise Ash having a bit better low end, so I use them both for different tasks.

Here is the changelog:

version 1.8.1

- Added: Main Input & Main Output Monitoring Bar
- Improved: Multi Instance performance
  Member 1.03.2014 381
I have tried everything including Apogee, but forgot to test the IK.
I like AA Purple but its heavy on the cpu, so noiseash is handy and good sounding.
IK has been pushing harder lately with their tapes and sunset sound reverb, i really like these two.
  Resident 8.03.2015 20 480
it crashes a lot in Logic Pro X catalina.. lastest.. anyone else?
when moving the AU to another slot in the channel strip.. and open it again..
crashes logic..
  Member 9.10.2014 47
i think its pretty good emulation, i really like the analog switch and the v bump. dont know much about them but they make stuff sound good thanks
  Member 23.04.2015 4 475
V bump is just a plain volume bump
Come here just to try the software and buy it afterwards.
If I don't like the software I will just DELETE it.
  Resident 18.03.2013 432
As it seems not many have actually commented on whether it works ok, it does. In Windows 10 Latest. Studio One 5.4/Ableton 11/Sequoia15/Cakewalk/Soundforge15/Audition.
