Though I wouldn't know about UAD, I 100% agree about Waves. NoiseAsh sounds more radical and less harsh at the same time.
Tested on vocals, it shines.

I'm running a HP that has embarrassingly low specs for what I throw at it, but I haven't run into this problem at all (though my paging files are knocked up to compensate, slightly.) I noted the lite usage because I was expecting it to be heavy like many emulations are so, I don't really know what to tell you.
Have you tried restarting your computer?

To answer my own question, I *think* I'm now preferring this to BR... unless I want really weighty lows. But BRA tends to get 'muddy' more easily (or boxy) as it extends more up into the low mids.

Rule tech sounds a bit crisper/clearer/punchy (so like a mix between softube's tubetech and black rooster - the best of both worlds).

I also prefer the GUI on rule tech + the all in one option (handy) and overall it sounds a touch nicer on many sources, more depth, while BRA (now) sounds a bit flatter next to it.

So.... I think, yeah, this is now the best native Pultec algo emu all things considered. I'll still keep BRA around for that thing it does well.

Blackrooster is fine. But these BRA pultecs have more resonance in comparison with NoiseAsh. And curves are different. Another vibe at all. But both are way better than Waves.
NoiseAsh is the best here.

Yup, I've now uninstalled black rooster plugs. replaced magnetite with new IK tape and VEQ1p with Rule Tech (and love the heritage all in one too reminds me of the softube tubetech channel but sounds better). Thanks R2R! :)

The GUI looks like Pultech eq. Keep in mind all soft developers have their hardware units for study. Original Pultech eq's are refurbished, original. All units differ in tubes(new, old, original), transformers(new, old, original) and internal electronics(the same as two mentioned earlier). You can't compare 2 hardware units cuz that introduced variables. You can subjective compare between the software versions.

This is a beautiful piece of gear that I have used on a couple tracks so far. I especially like the way it touches up PurgatoryCreek's Mark I; butter tone. I also like the added color from the HPF on basses that gives them some added...smooth warmth, I guess, much like BR's VHL-3C.

Just a note to those of you with limited downloads from upload sites: the Rockfile link here isn't uniform with the UL and RG links, as the first Rockfile link is for MAC, not WIN. They size reflects this, but it's easy to miss.
