Team RET | 2021-06-25 | 215 MB
smart:EQ 3 enhances detail, clarity and transparency in single tracks and in arrangements of up to six channels. Establish spectral balance in your sound within a few seconds.

World's 1st intelligent multitrack EQ
High-resolution precision at the push of a button
Give your creation a sound balance
Achieve spectral balance with smart:EQ 3 within seconds – whether you are working on a single track or a mix. The AI-powered equalizer will clean-up unpleasant resonances and unwanted notches, leaving you with a well-balanced sound – and therefore an ideal basis to take further creative steps.

Spectral mixing via drag & drop
Make your mix incredibly smooth
Intelligent cross-channel processing will aid you in your quest to create a transparent arrangement of up to six channels in which each track plays exactly the role you want it to.
By analyzing the spectral information of all the channels you've added to your group, the algorithms make sure that each track gets its assigned space within your mix. You just have to determine the sonic hierarchy according to your vision. It's as simple as that.

Newly designed profiles, splittable smart:filter, ...
Team up your smartness with smart:EQ 3
Adapt the impact of the A.I. powered processing of smart:EQ 3 to your liking: In EQ view, you can select the frequency ranges which should be affected, change the shape of the green weighting curve of the computed smart:filter and define the duration of the learning process. In group view, you can control the level of impact the intelligent cross-channel processing has on your tracks. You can have it all: Enjoy the incredible abilities of the smart algorithms and stay in control.

Filter widgets, spectral mixing via drag & drop, multi-channel analyzer
Stay in the flow with smart:EQ 3
We've designed smart:EQ 3's intuitive, sleek interface and user-centered features to make every move count: Tweak your audio material efficiently by utilizing the filter widgets, create a sonic hierarchy by dragging and dropping your tracks in group view, and choose which tracks of your mix you want to monitor simultaneously with the comprehensive analyzer. And there is so much more – explore all that smart:EQ 3 has to offer.

Apparently this version doesn't require an active network adapter anymore.

Thank you RET for being active and for continuing to provide these things for us all!

Apparently what? Groups don't work.

According to the official changelog of the 1.01 version, an active network adapter is no longer required for groups to function.
Whether this would be a bad job by Sonible, or a bad crack, I don't know

Tested their trial. Result is also : when offline, groups can't be created.

Thumbdown to the dev.

As a corollary : it's not a problem coming from RET at all.

Way better - let's underline that - :=>
Amongst others, we fixed the issue of needing an active network connection when using the Group View – you don’t need one now – and improved the perfomance and stability of smart:EQ 3 when working with Cubase 11.

Change log
* group view now works without an active network connection
* fixed display issues with missing frequency and gain labels
* improved performance of dynamic learning
* added miniature EQ response for Pro Tools (AAX)
* applied various stability and performance improvements
* fixed stability and graphics issues in Cubase 11

Thank you funtime . Thank you Team RET .

RET are friggin awesome!!

Thank you SO much, RET!!

Glad to see Groups like R2R, RET and V.R as well as our "on board crew" which
is also active in bringing us the newest toys and tools to check them out thoroughly!

Wish you all the best, RET!

'* improved performance of dynamic learning'
It was already greatly improved compared to v2. Now there's more improvement in that respect in a very short time. I believe it is the best auto spectral balancing tool available considering detail, clarity and transparency of sound.

This EQ is so good it makes me lazy these days.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

@Alwin :
@nmkeraj :

You both are absolutely correct - checked and re-checked - : no group can be created if we're offline :-((

EDIT : =>
Installed the trial - so had to install that %£!#! iLok thing ( I'm a local hero ) -.
Result is the same : when offline, groups can't be created.

Thumb down to the dev pretending the issue was solved.

Groups do work offline.

You need to allow traffic for 255.255.255.255 and 226.0.0.1.
These IPs are reserved for local traffic, they can't leak to the internet.

Nothing a crack could fix (there's nothing to fix really).
Sonible's approach to exchanging data between plugin instances may be lazy but it's technically sound.

Hi. I have blocked connection in Windows firewall for Ableton. How should I it? Any guide from you. Thanks in advance.

I don't know how to set this up with Windows Firewall, here's how to do it with 'simplewall' (open source):

1) Block DAW from traffic
2) Go to the 'User rules' tab
3) Click the green + button to create a new rule
4) General tab: any protocol, any family (ports), any direction, action: allow
5) Rule tab: rule (remote): add... 255.255.255.255
6) Rule tab: rule (remote): add... 226.0.0.1
7) [x] Enable rule (bottom left)
8) Save

Setup should be similar for other firewalls

quote by nmkerajI have set the firewall. Groups are not working...

I can't know how you " set the firewall ", nmkeraj .

In simple résumé, this is what you have to do to get those groups working : autorise your DAW to reach reserved address 226.0.0.1, though your firewall :=>

Address 255.255.255.255 was used for the previous version 1.0.0 of smart:EQ 3, as discussed in the previous topic of it :=>

So I suppose that's what the dev modified.
