For the VIP patches to work, you need to have both Omnisphere and Trilian installed and working well.

To install for Windows, simply merge the extracted STEAM folder with your existing one.

To install on MAC, it is the same, but be sure to pay attention to permissions and that sort of thing as per usual. I don't run MAC so I can't say myself.

If you already have a smaller 24 KB "A Taste of Omnisphere" .db file that does not work or show in Omnisphere menu, just overwrite it and now it will show up.

It was common to have libraries available online that had the Patch VIP .db @ 0 KB. That won't work, you already know and agree. This will, so enjoy!

Special thanks to those of the past where it is from, involving this. \m/ Originally called "VIP_Patch_Library_Update_1_3_1" This release nowadays is to fix these things that it is very likely most aren't even aware are problems in their library, because there is no visual error and you need to be learned to even know they exist in the first place. Now you learned. :) Still, they are not easy to track down even knowing all this!

Thanks for the great finding!

I was aware of that Taste of Omnisphere problem. Just didn't know how to fix it.
I've dug deeper and found a newer and bigger A Taste of Omnisphere.db which is 1.59 Mb and contains 70 patches (your A Taste of Omnisphere.db is 472 kb and contains 21 patches). I took it from Omnisphere_Patch_Library_Update_1_3_1.zip (last patch with working A Taste of Omnisphere.db, next newer patch is 1.5.1 and it contains faulty 23.7 kb A Taste of Omnisphere.db file).

I've repacked your archive and added both VIP Library.db files straight from VIP_Patch_Library_Update_1_3_1.zip with original modified dates (yours are exactly the same files but dated 12 Jul 2020) for those perfectionist freaks like me :)

PS. Just realized that VIP Library seems to have the same content as Trilian VIP (which already was in my Patch Browser before). So I deleted \Patches\Factory\VIP Library.db to get rid of doubles. As for \Multis\Factory\VIP Library.db it really added new content to Multis.

Это официальные паки с патчами и мультями, которых не хватает в народной омнисфере 2. Если найдутся еще такие паки, здесь на AZ их запостят.

^^^ Well, since you said that way and I can dig it - "Electrophonik" patch exists here with different sizes. A) "Trilian VIP Patch" 54 MB B) "VIP Library Patch" 40MB. Maybe this is reason to have both Trilian VIP and regular Omni VIP installed.

The official installer will install everything the best we both discovered all in simplicity on its own, no bothers at all, both WiN OSX. Someone please test OSX and report results, if so inclined:

• Macintosh: OSX 10.5 Leopard or higher
• Windows: Microsoft Windows 7/Vista
• VST plug-in requires host with support for VST 2.4 or higher
• Audio Unit requires host with support for "Cocoa" based AU plug-ins

You must own Trilian and have an authorized installation on the same computer/STEAM directory as your Omnisphere.

Omnisphere software version 1.3.0 or higher is also REQUIRED to use the VIP Patch Library or the patches and multis will not sound or work correctly.

I can't get your link to work.. and the earlier ones are files from 2010. The same ones already on my system were way newer. Not sure I understand the point of this.

If you install from my previous comment, you will have all updated to latest and most ever released that we know of, thanks to Vensdale's findings combined with mine, all in one package (his original date VIP patch db is in it instead of one that my system changed date on and larger Taste library from him too) - and it handles a minor thing or two too that perfectionists would appreciate. Doesn't matter what you did in the past - it will make it all well as per Spectrasonics official, regardless.

We are really talking about 3 files here, only. To test the Win installer, I deleted my working files and installed and all is proper. So my final download (which also makes the Electrophonik moved well as they claim in notes) is all anyone would ever need, but to be sure, I am glad for you. And of course, credit to Vensdale - the latest is just to make it as easy as possible for anyone and everyone.

There are some cool patches in these!

How do I merge the extracted STEAM folder with existing one, without overwriting the existing one? Please, explain the process of installation to me.
