MAAT’s LINearise is the final link between production and delivery. Offering optional word length reduction and three dither spectra tailored to both analog and digital delivery of assets, LINearise is highly adjustable to help create your own signature “sound.” In addition to TPD and weighted TPD, LINearise features VPD™, Variable Probability Density, an exclusive feature that allows you to dial in the dither spectrum anywhere between rectangular and Gaussian distribution.

LINearise has it. As you’d expect, automatic muting and variable bit depth but also a choice of rounding, truncation or no change to those least significant bits. Noise shaping and dither gain are also adjustable so, between all the choices, you can define the perfect low amplitude character for your client’s work.

Dither is a fundamental aspect of today’s DAWs. Although not usually thought of as such, re-dithering is important DSP (Digital Signal Processing). In the distant past, much of the pioneering research on dither was performed at Bell Labs. According to information theory, you should add a pinch of noise to your digital audio every time you change it to keep it distortion–free and to embed program content in the noise floor. That’s dither. Use it to make your digital audio less…“digital!”

Nothing, this plugin is flat-out wrong. It adds low level DC offset and crossover distortion similar to type AB amplifiers. An interesting effect, but definitely incorrect. In fact, the only MAAT plugin that is technically correct is the phase shifter (probably because it's a dirt simple allpass filter). The EQ's definitely have a pleasing flavor to them, but have been far surpassed in terms of sheer fidelity by things like Equilibrium and Crave.

If you want proper dither, Goodhertz Good Dither with "High" amount and no noise-shaping is the best choice.

dithering was 1 of the most ridiculous step in music production, the dithering cannot bring the digital audio back to near original in specific bits and or even makes it sound better without the issue solved, it only can do is, do a more useless step like you are a 'pro', do it or not, just different ways to bring the sound quality down.

Imagine a staircase. Strew it with sand. Now you've (almost) got an inclined plane. In digital audio you use noise instead of sand.

yes that's true, so what yours did is, you change the sand to the noise, and the noise can't to the sand, even worse, you can't, you would never achieve that, because what you want is, the noise, take a surgery to your ears and neuron cells to the cheap digital audio to accept the noise, the noise is better than sand, wow,

i hope they are not keeping MAAT thEQred to themselves this time. i have a theory that they dont like the sound of Linear phase >D

it is basically the only software eq that can compete with the Weiss EQ1-DYN-LP

"three dither spectra tailored to both analog and digital delivery" - I've never understood the point of dithering when you already have an analogue (ie. high) noise floor. Anyone?

Again, every time I see a new dithering tool and test it to Foobar2000's dithering, I find that I prefer Foobar2000's. I don't suspect this will be any different.
