It is extremely popular, because it is a well-coded freeware character compressor that sounds great. You can really push it with this compressor. Krysdeb described it well. It is definitely a gritty compressor, and absolutely and utterly ideal for parallel compression feats.

Anyways, will give it a try, thanks for the upload!

Btw. I really like that more and more developers are going to produce plugins for Linux. Could become a really good alternative to MacOS and Windows in the future.

I agree, it would be soo cool to see more stuff on Linux. I feel like, the only big problem left might be Kontakt and its libraries. With u-he synths and effects there's a ton of stuff you can do, and bitwig and reaper can get you very far in combination with that.
