Release notes for Superior Drummer 3.1.6

2020-01-17

Superior Drummer 3.1.6 is now available to download using the Product Manager or from the ‘My Products’ area in your Toontrack account. Please note that version 3.1.6 is required for the support of Superior Drummer 3 products released from this point forward (Q1 2020).
Bug Fixes

General

Fixed a crash on Mac that could occur for example when the window was opened or a different library was selected. Only recent versions of certain hosts seem to have been affected, for example Cubase 10.5.
It should no longer crash if no sound libraries are available at startup or when a project is loaded.

Song Track

Deleting a song track should no longer sometimes cause a crash.
Playing tempo ramps on the song track without Follow Host, the tempo made some incorrect jumps sometimes and some notes could be missed.
When looping, the first note(s) could sometimes be skipped.
Keyboard shortcuts would stop working on the song tracks after a track was deleted.
The text “Drag MIDI song block here” could in certain cases incorrectly appear on the track when recording was going on, the tempo editor was open or the time signature editor was open.

Settings

Fixed a crash that occurred when “Select the Hi-Hat Pedal Control CC(s)” was clicked in e-drum settings.

Standalone

At startup on Mac, if there was a dialog saying that the audio device could not be opened and you clicked the dialog button to open audio setup, the menus in SD3 would stop working (until you clicked on SD3 in the Dock).

If you have the midi banks with instaler:
"Monster MIDI Fills Installer.exe",
you have to install every midi pack at list once.

If you have without instaler:
"000100@MONSTER_MIDI_FILLS_PACK",
Just drop the midi file or the whole midi folder into your EZ Drummer midi file location. Mine is here: C:\Program Files\Toontrack\EZX\Midi. You can add this folder or any other folders containing drum midi files, from Toontrack - Superior Drummer 3/Settings. Another way is to just copy and paste the folder wit the midi files, inside Toontrack - Superior Drummer 3/Grooves (Tab)/User Midi (on the left panel). Then click on User Midi, Synk File Changes.

I had problems with previous releases there were no MIDI grooves but this release is magical.

Just installed, all is fine.

Be careful, all the midi libraries are installed, could be a problem to locate your personal grooves.

This new version do not resolve a problem I have with the Abbey Road serie of Native Instrument, when you apply the Abbey Road mapping in SD3 and paste the groove in the song track timeline, SD3 crash.

With an existing working copy of 3.1.5 CE-V.R and a bunch of other installed/working packs, does one have to uninstall everything and start clean, or just install the 3.1.6 CE-V.R version over top of that?

Hi,

I haven't made music in years, decided to get back at it again.
Need a little help with this though.. So I did a clean install of this, put the midi library files in the EZdrummer base installation folder, all good...
Now when I open up superior drummer, it doesn't find any content, even though I have the midi folder selected in Settings / Libraries/paths.
Could someone tell me what is going wrong here? Thanks in advance.

A couple questions: I have a 3.0.1 with the package (230Gb), what is this 272Mb release missing? I'm afraid to "update" and then lose what I installed!
Also, if I run this 3.1.6 version, I don't have to run any library update right? This update already updates my library, am I right?
