Imagine a pre-digital world where sampling didn’t exist and the only way to incorporate orchestral realism in your music was, well, to hire an actual orchestra. Enter the Mellotron circa 1963. We’ve lovingly re-engineered it in Mellotron V for your music circa today.

What if you placed a tape playback mechanism under each key and fed each one a recording of a single orchestral instrument note? Crazy? Brilliant? Who cares! That ingenuity resulted in the Mellotron and empowered artists like The Beatles, The Moody Blues, Genesis and Yes to perform strings, brass, woodwinds and more without hiring a room full of session players. The imperfections of tape flutter and other 1960s electronics yielded a sort of alt-universe version of these traditional instruments. Yes one of few thing that is not ilok or other dongle methods R2R haven't managed to crack yet.
Version 4 works fine

But after version 5 it doesnt work anymore audio silent or volym drop -20 db or so
And when you try to raise the volym it goes back to -20 something or whatever it was on again.

Many or most presets that come with the synths dont work at all

I think i gonna go back to v 4 and save lots of space aswell as those new updates sound worse than before
And it is loaded with tons of gui files

Arturia has become Uhe ultralight.

While Uhe still sounds very good his protection still bombs every plugin if you use it very often and many hours dayly i dont know if that pack R2R released at christmas time 5 years ago still works?

But if you use others it will bomb some has seen melting gui and some just go back to demo mode now it is anly a matter of turning the clock back or forward to make it work again that doesnt work on any Arturia plugin.

I which Uhe would take those hours he use to implant those timebombs code lines and improve his plugins sonically.

Imagine how good they will sound if he did that.

Arturia has gone the other way and used all their time to increase the protection and make strangly enough even make it sound even worse then it before WOW.

Imagine if they had used all thet time to rellly tried to nail the sound of the hardware they try to emulate?

Now they go for shining realistic looking gui and tons of protection code instead of using their code working time to make it sound awesome.

That goes for tons of other Devs aswell
That why i admire Devs like Airwindows no Gui only try to make it sound good and the users HAVE to use their ears not the eyes when they dial in sounds

I still don't get why it's so big: I thought that it was physically modeled and not sample based?

The original worked with tapes. Those are samples now. The rest is modeled.

This appeared not cracked on my computer, and fucked up all licenses I had previosuly bought for arturia's products. Ditto with the CZ and Synthi. Had to unisntall all and restore all previous licences. Not recommended.

Neither did I. I unistalled these, and reinstalled my licensing software and reiimported my licenses. So I would not advise to use it.
