Wasn't it obvious? R2R never forget to release softwares of some select developers.

Based on the size of the plugin, I'm wondering if this is sample based, like Acustica.
  Resident 2.02.2014 1 2310
Dont think so. Look at the Arturia synths, filters, preamps. I think 99,8% size is hiquality GUIs images.

Look at the difference of mac vs win installers. 41 mb!
What if the size is just not optimized.

if you know Acoustic Audio, then look at the Overloud Gem series as a static Mojo+Algorithm.
when I say mojo I mean, for example, the libraries of HenryOlanga..
however Overloud is not as efficient and high quality as Acoustica due to various reasons which I'll not list here, ....however a great product.
  Resident 12.12.2011 560
their products are bollockz ...useless and you get same results with all great compressors and eq's available, soooo overated company, i think they believe they are in front of all competitors, ive bought only one plugin of their stuff and had enough, absolutely rubbish tech that eats you space on hdd for nothing ...i dont think we ever live to test them here but i wish you could, mostly would agree... never had the chance to test measurements of some hardware of that Henry Olanga you say, maybe he got them right, but if I where to choose one bundle, I would choose Slate, even tho i dont support Ilok stuff but its way better thank Acoustica's stuff... my two cents

But the GUIs look pretty. They make everybody's balls a bit shinier!
Kinda reminds me of those times when you met a beautiful woman, only to find out how rotten and stupid she is inside. A bad apple. I've met my fair share of those... sorry to say.

Agree with Overloud stuff. But the slate part being better than Acoustica is laughable. It's slightly better than Overloud, that is.

virusg..I Respect your tastes.
But if you knew that Steven Slate and Fabrice Gabriel had used some obsolete and defective libraries of Henry Olanga to build their Virtual Channel and Virtual MixBuss, end up putting on the market 2 plugins with the inheritance of that flaw and that have helped to destroy several mixes in the world thanks to a corrupt internal signal phase, maybe you would see things differently. Other than that, but not quite ...Slate does not sound either worse or better than many other blazoned developers, even in the freeware world. But Acoustics is another planet.
Same speech for Overloud. When I say that Overloud still makes great products, it's because qualitatively speaking, remaining aligned with the market average, some of their analogue emulations offers some side-chains and parallel compressions wet/dry in more places where others do not implement them. . That's all. Me too I'm not particularly fascinated by the super cool graphics, a common element of both Slate and Overloud and Waves and many many more 'small cheaters.
I'm strongly committed to music-by-listening rather than music-by-looking. As the wise old Chris Johnson says: in mix, nobody can hear your screen. And even its plugins are from another planet, oh yea, but maybe from a different Galaxy..IMO

Hi mate, I would like to know more about this slate olonga VCC thing, I use those plugs daily.....
  Member 17.02.2014 7 563
My memory isn't perfect, it was not HenryOlanga but AlexB, forgive me. But the juice does'nt change. You can find some info here in AS sister forum: https://audiosex.pro/threads/what-is-nebula-and-why-are-there-so-many-positive-reviews.23430/page-7
or do a search on gearslutz, where the topic is more discussed. However we are talking about events that happened 4-5 years ago, I don't remember well, and in the meantime VCC has been updated and corrected. It seems to me that the phase issue version was 1.5. However I repeat to not give rise to misunderstandings, Slate belongs to a high-end, qualitatively speaking, Overloud defends itself with GEM, but Acoustics and Airwindows are several steps beyond even that, in my deformed opinion by master-engineer

I think it's never about what you use – it's always just about what you hear and feel – and that means it's about genius and content, at least it's about something nobody can learn or buy ...

A nice GUI does not make a plugin sound better, let's be clear. But this is not the 90's anymore... nor people are using Win XP... I appreciate the efforts and care developers put into it. It's common practice nowadays to create images double the size of the original. It looks better when you minimize. U-he does it too...
I've notice you have a beef with some GUIs. You sound like a minimalist to me. I'm glad others have a different opinion about it, otherwise, we would be looking at a boring, ugly thing.
As for the beautiful stupid girls, that's what happens sometimes when we want to get laid... Lucky we, they don't judge us by beauty. Nor shinny balls...

Their promo video seems to suggest it's sample based:

The Fairchild 670 is the stereo version, the 660 being the mono. It utilized 20 tubes, 11 transformers and 2 inductors in a 6-unit rack size and the 670 weighed 65 fucking pounds. The 670 can process two stereo channels either as a left/right stereo pair, or as lateral and vertical components for it's intended use while stereo disc cutting masters for records. In this mode, the 670 splits the two channels via a matrixing network, separately limits them, then recombines them through another matrix to reconstitute the stereo signal. And by using a Mid/Side recording technique for the two channels, mono-compatibility could also be preserved. The reason that it weighed so damn much wasn't to do with the audio path, but rather the power supply to create tons of power but only needing a small bit to power the audio path of those tubes and transformers. It is QUIET. It has a fast and aggressive attack time and a slow release and goes through a I think two stages of compression and is super smooth. Think of the Beatles vocals...they all went through a 660 and Ringo's drum sound is also heavily influenced by Jeff Emerick's use of Fairchild compressors at Abby Road Studio. So yes, you do probably know what a Fairchild sounds like!

I can't see the installer for mac in the folders... I see a .cmd file but it's like if is broken or damage... anybody else?
  Resident 2.02.2014 1 2310
One guy from r*trcker measured Milan mode in plugindoctor. Highs (from 4-5 kHz and higher up to 22kHz) are processed differently for left and right channels. Bug in DSP? Or it is modelled from old dead broken fairchild? Or what?

Sorry to click on the reply. I can't even create / write a fresh post.. on old safari.. Lame question to anyone, the key gen doesn't seem to work properly on Yosemite or is it that I am inputting on the key gen a wrong mac address? How do you find your Mac address? Cheers
  Resident 1.02.2017 532
Writing new post is on the right side of the page under the "related posts" part.

Where to find the proper MAC address:
You have to check the active network connection. Go to System Preferences > Network
Click on the one (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) that is written "Connected", there click "Advanced..." button. There in Hardware tab you find the MAC address of that connection.
In keygen you have to type this address without the ":" separator, only the numbers and letters.

As far as I know it is accurately modeled, the bi-processes affecting the audio accordingly. It was created to cut masters as loud as love without the mastering needle jumping the groove of the lacquer.

my go to and favorite compressor is the overloud comp g. low cpu and its overall sound the way it works its really easy. this one looks a bit more complex. for those who tested, is this any better?
  Resident 7.11.2014 11 534
For the cpu is very low, for the sound is different, he does not work like a vca compressor, so is not better just very different try it =)
