Who makes these and how would you use them for a specific audio interface as opposed to Steinberg UR 22 or Apollo Twin USB's drivers to improve on their drivers? Or are these secondary to the main drivers.
Thanks,
Jenin

Image-Line makes them, and they're closer to ASIO4ALL in quality - ie you're much better off with your audio interface's native ASIO driver if it has one. But if it's a choice between ASIO4ALL and FL-ASIO you're probably better with FL-ASIO.

JellyMonster -

How do you determine this IL driver is better than ASIO4ALL ?
What are the differences ?

ASIO4All gives you better latency. FL Studio ASIO does a similar thing, but has slightly more latency for the benefit of not taking exclusive control of your soundcard - that is, you can play audio from other applications while using your DAW. Both are kind of better than regular Windows audio, though WSAPI in exclusive mode on Windows 10 is getting *really* close to ASIO4All level of latency.

When I installed FL Studio 12 it installed Asio driver too, but if I understood this right so is this a different one?

I use RME's ASIO driver, but I have a Babyface, though their drivers are the really the top of the heap. They are a free download at their site.

Interesting. Could these drivers bring an improvement for say a Focusrite or a ny other sound card?
  Resident 4.05.2011 952

I have never done a comparison, and maybe someone which technical chops could weigh in...people over at the Image Line site say they can hear differences in how the sound is processed, softer treble frequencies, etc. There are differences on how an ASIO driver outputs to corresponding inputs of a DAW, so maybe there are variations on the way they all differently juggle the sound, process with different equations or something. But like I say, I'm not Alberto Onestone when it comes to these things.

Ive been all over their site and have not seen such drivers. are they called something else?
If you're able to correct me, then you understood me fine in the first place. prick.

To clarify most of the users:

These ASIO drivers are to use with your onboard soundcard (ie: Conexant, Realtek...)
Useless if you already have a good soundcard from Steinberg, RME, Terratec, Focusrite, Ensoniq. E-MU...

Not sure if I'm allowed to share my thoughts, but, will it work on FL Studio 10? I mean, the sound/audio is extremely low in this FL version when using FL Studio ASIO. How can I fix it?
  Resident 4.05.2011 952

While you have FL Studio open and running, open the ASIO control window. A person said that for them before that they did this it was as if the driver was only partially outputting volume. Give it a try and see, it can't hurt to try, maybe it will work out for you. If not, try RME's version. It is free at their site. http://www.rme-audio.de/en/downloads_driver_archive.php#9

I have ASIO4ALL, but I'm going to test out RME to see if it can improve my performance (well, not "my performance," *cough*, my PC's....you know what I meant. )

Much thanks to you for all of your information and expertise! The driver that you list above is pretty old. Not even sure how you got to that page. Wouldn't this driver be better? [driver_usb_win_1164.zip] It's on this page. http://www.rme-audio.de/en/downloads/driver/uc.php

Fantastic, I replaced the Asio4all with this FL Asio in an old PC and now the DAW run flawlessly. Thank you!

Lol, nice upload. You forgot to mention I gave these drivers to this website. Look up the original release. @Jrmaffia.

Regarding these drivers, they are worse, and cause all sorts of memory leaks. You'd be better with the old trusty asio4all drivers, which seems to be a must for some Audio Interfaces on windows 7(e.g. Focusrite neglecting win 7 driver support). When you properly configure asio4all, you get lower latency as opposed to these drivers. This is just made for those who don't use an audio interface and want to hear their chrome browser at the same time(which you shouldn't, cus you'd better stay offline ;)

I found it handy to switch between asio4all & my PreSonus Audiobox USB drivers when i want to listen to other audio/video (usually video with audio) when working with my DAW. At those times, latency isn't usually a bother.
I tried to disable exclusive control for my Audiobox, but I seem to recall it did not work. Gotta try that again though. i didn't pay much attention when i tried it.

Some time ago, one of Image Line staff explained the role of this driver to me on their forums. this is just a wrapper for WASAPI shared mode.

Essentially what this driver does is translating ASIO calls to WASAPI calls and this results to higher latency compared to asio4all and vanilla WASAPI. plus all the WASAPI bugs like audio stream instability and memory leaks remain there.

I highly suggest Voicemeeter Banana if you want to reroute WASAPI to ASIO. it's shareware (free for personal use) but you need to RTFM to get to know the configurations.

I tested this out a while back (on my audio PC which is running Win7Ult.x64,) and my ASIO4ALL actually is noticeably better as per latency. I was kinda surprised...on the other hand, I don't know enough about drivers to be too shocked.
I actually don't have any major issues with ASIO4ALL, no matter what DAW I have used in the past, and currently, with Studio One, it performs fine, so no huge loss here.
Thanks anyway, PiRAT...or Junglefever.

Hi peeps,
I really hope someone can help me here.

I use Win 10 Home vers. 1809 on a 2017 Asus ROG Strix laptop and have been using this Fl Studio Asio Driver v1.03 since it came out and never had an issue before. But now it's been over a week that this error appears everytime I open Fl Studio 20.5. "Couldn't initialize rendering in shared mode! Code:-2004287480"

This message does not appear when I change my Input/Output Device to ASIO4ALL v2, when I plug an external audio interface and choose Fl Studio ASIO instead of it's own ASIO driver. Fl studio is the only software opened when the message appears. Fl Studio Asio driver is the device I use when I don't have my audio interface with me because it runs flawlessly.

Here is what I've tried to fix the issue :
- Re-installed :
My RME Babyface pro (driver_usb_win_1168) & Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 1st Gen (Focusrite_USB_4.62.1.504) latest drivers.
Fl Studio ASIO Drivers v1.03
Fl Studio 20.5 (issue randomly started in previous version a week ago)
Realtek HD Audio Driver latest drivers and codecs

I also did :
- A reset on Fl Studio settings.
- Updated every audio driver in Device Manager
- Updated BIOS
- Opened, installed updates with Admin Rights
- Showed disabled and disconnected devices in Sound Control Panel
- Changed the default format of sample rate and bit depth to be used when running in shared mode to match my DAW. (Currently having 16 bit, 48 000 Hz and 24 bit, 48 000 Hz only. Not sure why I don't see 44 100 Hz)
- Uninstalled most recent plugins potentially using this driver in Standalone mode
- Uninstalled latest Windows updates (because 95% of my unexpected issues come right after Windows Updates. I disable them in services.msc but Windows always end up forcing me to update when I want to turn off or reboot my laptop. The option gets automatically turned back on by itself.)
- Troubleshoot sound problems, rebooted windows and Fl Studio ASIO worked only during this attempt but the same error returned after a rendering.
- Virus scan
- Turned off Antivirus and Internet
- Closed background apps potentially using WASAPI like Skype.
- Looked everywhere for information and ran out of options.

What am I missing? Please help ! Thanks
