DAW Cassette brings back the magic era of the 1980:s by emulating the sound of a tape deck. Saturation, distortion, noise, wobble, it’s all there. While there’s no real rational logic to it, the sound color gives us chills down the spines, (or it might be the mullet haircut that tickles). Fresh.

Usage: Choose your preferred level of cassetteness with the different controls for input/output gain, tape/motor/head quality and tape/dolby type. Now, look in the mirror and get stunned by your new mullet haircut.

•Control the noise level with Dolby emulation (including a noise-free option, Dolby K).

Thanks for upload. I just write to note that It is almost comical that in the 60's 70's and 80's we were trying to eliminate tape hiss from our recordings thus paving the way for companies like Dolby Laboratories. this sounds pretty decent - i think i like the rc-20 retro color plugin a bit better(has way more options anyway). but i still have yet to find a vst that emulates a really nasty "tape chew" type effect - can anyone recommend one? thanx!

as usual digital emulation sucks big time, and this software-cassette is the same

i have a cassette with dolby s, and this software doenst even come close to dolby

but its a lot easier to download software than to buy a hardware... :-)

Thanks, Sunny!! This one will be useful for a lot of my tracks. :)
I do think it's funny though, how many people don't realize that the effects of these types of plugins are much more subtle when you are playing music that *isn't made for a demo track/video of the plugin. Listen to how the demo song is mixed and mastered and then note how the frequencies (or lack-there-of,) compliment the plugin.
I am not saying this is a bad plugin at all. It's nice. I have actually run some stuff of my stuff through various tape decks and then imported them back into my DAW, and this is comparable. I grew up on tapes and CD's, (tapes, largely, because I was always broke--CD's used to cost $25, remember?) which means that a lot of older bands or artists I like have songs that are firmly cemented into my memory via analogue devices, so this plugin will be a nice addition to Slate's Tape Machines and McDSP's 101 & 202. :)
