PSPaudioware PSP E27 v1.5.1 HAPPY NEW YEAR-R2R screenshot

Team R2R | Happy New Year | 17.1 MB
PSP E27 is a multistage equalizer plug-in (VST3, VST, AAX and RTAS for Windows; AudioUnit, VST3, VST, AAX and RTAS for Mac OSX) modeled after the analog equalizer E27 produced by Avedis Audio Electronics. E27 offers three-band equalization with nine selectable frequencies in a standard 500x package.

This equalizer offers +/-16dB of boost/cut at musically selected frequency ranges, and offers gentle saturation. Low and high filters can work in bell or shelf mode with a single click. E27 is suitable for both mixing and mastering. PSP E27 offers additional preamp stage for global level control. This EQ plug-in catches nonlinear behavior of analog devices.

PSP E27 SE (included in the bundle) is a simplified version of PSP E27, our multistage equalizer plug-in modeled after the analog E27 produced by Avedis Audio Electronics. The PSP E27se is based on the same great audio engine, but it has a redesigned, simpler GUI making quick adjustments a snap. The PSP E27se is equipped with one E27 and one PA11 module. It’s perfect for both mono tracks and stereo stereo in which you don’t need seperate settings for the Left and Right channels.

This EQ blows me away every time i use it. If there is one EQ you were thinking of buying, this would be it. Rivals any Acustica/Nebula EQ.

Anyone else finding this buggy? in ProTools 12.5 e27 1.5.1 is having resizing issues that weren't there in 1.5. Also has causes issues with reloading projects (e27 disabled in places) vs old version.

Back to 1.5 it seems more stable.

Though the VST3 version is meant to be fixed in 1.5.1? So when using that it may now remember presets (you had to use VST2 on previous versions)...

Actually just checked on PSP site, latest download is a BETA for 1.5.2 and it claims there the VST3 (with Studio One) issue is fixed. So there is/will be a 1.5.2 out there soon I'd hope that finally fixes all the issues on all formats (inc AAX resizing bug!) It also says that VST3 bypassed processing has been optimised which would be a REALLY good thing for Studio One loaded with tons of E27s if VST3 really is working right there in 1.5.2, cos you'll be able to run a lot more without choking.

Final update after more testing.

1.5.1 works good in VST2 (Studio One) and AAX in PT 10.3.9, it's in PT 12.5 (Audio Utopia) that 1.5.1 has both crashing and GUI resize issues. Basically Pro Tools 12 is buggy AF and has quite a few errors when pushed a bit (CPU errors that PT 10 handles well!).
Sadly PT10 doesn't have half the great plugs available - modern ones from here - most of which are 64bit not 32.

Wanted to clear this up. It's not Pro Tools 12.5 HD's fault at all (it's actually a rock solid release - probably the best release Audio Utopia ever gave us!), in fact it's ALL down to PSP and their shoddy coding. Even the legit plug/legit PT has crash/assertion errors from this eq, and plenty of other PSP plugs.

They really need to clean up their act, great EQ but very poor coding. Thanks R2R (and AU) you actually make this software BETTER, not worse, by removing a lot of the issues usually linked to DRM.

So.. until PSP themselves release a fully working AAX version the best way to use this in PT is the VST(2) version via Patchwork (rock solid - just a shame it's then a bit clunkier).

I also tried the 'beta' 1.5.2 official (with my ilok acc) and it too crashed and still had other issues. PSP seem to have given up on this great EQ.

Axis EQ is the only other alternative I've found that's as good, or almost, but that has slow loading issues and some bugs that cause track freezing to hang in PT... v1.3 Axis which is old now and sadly we never got a newer version with bug fixes.

now up to V 1.6.2 with a ton of fixes - would be great to have this (but it moved to iLok?)
