Merging Pyramix v10.1.3-V.R screenshot
Team V.R | Jan 30 2017 | Patch 14 MB | Installer 523 MB
Audio content creation is all about creating immersive environments. Whether it is making a piece of music come alive or feeling the action while watching award winning television or cinema, being able to create something that the user believes is the most important thing. And with 3D audio this is now easier than ever before.

Pyramix 10 brings an entirely new toolkit which makes the idea of being trapped by a maximum speaker layout a thing of the past. No matter what the application, bringing a 3rd dimension to your audio content will have a profound effect on your next production. And, matched with a number of other new feature enhancements and updates, Pyramix 10 is the next benchmark in the evolution of audio workstations around the globe.

Edit/Mix/Master During Record

Imagine being able to stop your timeline and let your recording continue. This simple difference from standard DAW recording allows users to play over material, scrub, edit, automate, render add and edit CD markers and generally treat the entire timeline as though it were filled with previously recorded sounds. This is an indispensable tool for almost every single Pyramix workflow.

Secure Recording Features

From automatic keyboard lockout for long uninterruptable takes (like a live concert such as The British Royal Wedding) to backup media paths for every recorder (allowing two distinct media sets to be created for each recording), Pyramix is the most trusted DAW when it comes to reliably capturing even the most critical of performances.

Ultra-Large Track Count Recordings

A single Pyramix MassCore system is capable of recording up to 384 discreet audio channels at once. This has huge implications at 44.1/48 kHz, but is even more interesting when samplerates start to increase.

384 track recording @ 44.1 / 48 kHz
192 track recording @ 88.2 / 96 kHz
96 track recording @ 176.4 / 192 kHz
48 track recording @ DXD / 384 kHz
32 track recording @ DSD64 / DSD128 / DSD256

Working in this DAW is more confusing and difficult than working in a space lab.
But great release anyway.

Please explain to me some scenarios or examples how you can use this thing?
Think of using non periodic rhythm patterns in your music

It's basically for DXD/DSD/SACD editing and mastering. But you would also need appropriate hardware and speakers like these. Else it doesn't make much sense.
Bob Ludwig uses it btw.

The high resolution file format is available in the pro Native version. You do NOT need any of the hardware packages necessarily but the number of tracks will be limited to 16 tracks DSD/DXD
Native DSD Recording = Yes
Native DSD Playback = Yes
Native DXD Recording = Yes
Native DXD Playback = Yes
DSD Record in DXD Project = No
DSD Playback in DXD Project = Yes
This has got to be an incredible share. Team VR have more than earned their spurs. All Hail the Russian/Ukranian Bear

You'll need some sort of DSD capable hardware, since it's really pointless to work with these formats on PCM interfaces. I didn't say it won't work without the hardware, I just said it doesn't make sense.

For PCM we have better solutions like Audition, WaveLab, etc.

There's one AD converter which is 32 bit I have seen on gearslutz, it is about 155 dB dynamic range.

Stage Tec Truematch RMC gives about 155 dB of dynamic range with 28 bit sampling. Also ESS TECH converters.

I need a 155dB of dynamic range soundcard why exactly? So I could make my smashed, without any dynamic range at all "masters"?

That was sarcastic. People have all this tech nowadays and we could make perfect quality sounding music, but we make it sound like complete garbage.

There are some better src converters for pcm, such as final cd sharp mode, rx 4 advanced src which you can adjust finer by holding ctrl or alt or shift don't remember, this has been removed from rx5 advanced, but you can write or own numbers e.g. 0.998785 etc.
Also sox are fine.
For me, fine is 64 bit src, with intermodulation and aliasing less than -170 dB, full frequency range with sharp filter starting at 22 kHz down to 22.05 kHz if we speak about 44.1kHz rate, also linear phase, nobody will hear short and quiet preringing at 22.05 kHz even if there was lowpass filter while equing/filtering.

Recording.
This is a DAW.
Complex and complete.
It uses a proprietary file format for audio wich is, reportedly and arguably, the best.
You can use it to record a simple demo, at 44.1KHz/16bit up to a super complex cinema production in surround sound or create an audiophile-friendly DSD production.

It's up to you.
It's a DAW, like any of the best ones.
You could compare it, feature wise, with Sequoia although it's different.

And no, it doesn't require proprietary hardware or interfaces.
Install and have fun. Be different from the bunch!
In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're not.

Immagine if this DAW supported VSTi. All your instruments inside MassCore.
The result: much lower latency with many more plugins at the same time.

Wrong.
DSD is a Noise Shaping technology and the sample shown on the graph is a sample of "silence". If audio was present, the noise floor wouldn't be like that.
At all.
In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're not.

Hello ini
Thanks for the input - you seem to know a bit about Pyramix. I am very interested in high resolution recording and processing but not making too much progress with the 815 page PDF manual and Video tutorials seem non-existent on Pyramix.
But here is a simple question: can I make a recording in this proprietary file format (DSD or DXD whatever) at these high resolutions they talk about using this software shared here and my RME Fireface 800 with its max of 24bit 192khz?????????????????

Not really, because the Fireface doesn't support DSD. You could only convert the PCM signal to DSD (and then back to PCM for playback), but that's a bit pointless, it won't get better than the signal you already have.

If you have something like an RME ADI-2 Pro, a Korg MR recorder or the mentioned Pyramix hardware, it's a different story of course.
