Improve the quality of your headphones, simulate a wide variety of brands and models, or customize your own headphone sound with TB Morphit.

Every headphone has its own, characteristic sound. Did you ever consider how the specific sonic attributes of your cans change your mixing results? Do you ever wonder how your mix would sound on different headphones?

Virtually every existing headphone introduces unwanted changes to the audio. TB Morphit helps to reduce these unwanted artifacts by improving the response of supported headphones. Moreover, it can simulate the sound of any of the other supported headphones. Hear how your mix translates from one set to another. Monitor how your mix will sound for your audience. This is especially important since several market studies have indicated that the majority of audio content is actually consumed over headphones. For this purpose, Morphit does not only include studio headphones, but also includes stock ear buds.

For faint-hearted headphone enthusiasts, TB Morphit also includes free-field and diffuse-field equalization modes and customizable target functions.

TB Morphit is an excellent companion to TB Isone, our environment simulation plugin for headphones. The cascade of headphone equalization (Morphit) and room acoustic simulation (Isone) together provides an unprecedented accuracy for simulation of loudspeaker reproduction on headphones.

Features
- Real-time, zero latency processing*

I don't imagine it has a setting for "wrecked headphones"

The answer is: don't wonder and above all don't use headphones for mixing
Thanks anyway

I've been mixing with headphones for nearly 30 years now and my mixes are always well received. You must know your tools and how to use them, be that cans or monitors.

YEAH! I like those who say "don't use headphones for mixing" and "set master chain to -0.5 db" and EQ to -6db at 40Hz" etc... sic!

Mates, your opinion is welcome and respected, but in 40 years of making music I've never seen a professional engineer using headphones for mixing or mastering:, maybe at the end, for a comparison test. As you can see, everyone has his own experience, and seeing all that (multiple) monitors on all professional consoles seems that mine is quite usual.

I notice a bit of venom in your words, and frankly they seem to me vaguely offensive: incompetents are everywhere, also between those using headphones.
Be calm and be happy with your magic headphones, nobody here wants to compete cto show who's better, we just try to give advices.

I'll try it out! Mixchecker is an important part of my mixing because it can simulate different monitors. It sounds like this does a similar thing with headphones, which sounds awesome!

Even better would be if it was also stand-alone and not just a VST, so you can listen to music outside your DAW with a much more expensive pair of cans

cool plugin but second periera, shouldn't be mixing on headphones. For Referencing fine.

Firstly many thanks for the share.
Secondly! Does anyone knows how to use this? I really don't know. I'm in Logic Pro X.

TIA

I use a similar app from Sonarworks with a pair of AKG 712's in Logic and applying the setting for that model, it does make slight suggestions that, if you have imperfect monitors in an imperfect room, you may benefit from hearing tonal losses or gains with monitors. For me they are just a last minute touch up.

I am curious for that Sonarworks software. But since that is $99, I will try this one first. I also find it strange that Sonarworks is a much bigger application (about 150 Mb) and has a lot less Headphones it supports. So thank you for being able to try this Tonebooster which happens to support both of my headphones!

THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME SHARE FUNTIME :D!!

For those who don't believe in using headphones for mixing, please remember that mixing is a subjective art form with no absolute certainty. It is up to the mixer what they feel most comfortable with that helps them achieve the best results. Just like with headphones, no 2 speakers sound alike and no studio mixing setup, monitor, room/stage will be identical. The best source will always be your ears, a few good commercial reference tracks for comparison, and a set up and environment that best stimulates your creative workflow.

I've read some comments above. And I'll be the first to say this thing is way better than Mixchecker. I didn't find Mixchecker to be useful. Right off the bat I discovered Morphit can be used to better the overall spectrum, tone, and response of your mixes. It doesn't matter if you're using headphones or your monitors.. it's already served me well just using my ears with this thing. It's parallel equalization with some good known curves as far as I'm concerned.
  Resident 21.06.2013 601

So, how do you use these with your monitors? Just applying one of the profiles for headphones or did you find anyone useful in particular?
  Resident 27.02.2013 320

I'm using this after I'm done mixing.. as a post parallel equalization tool. An EQ is always the last thing on my mixbus even if I don't touch it because it opens the dynamic up and makes it sound natural after folks do all their gluing with sat, delay, comp, lim, or whatever we wind up using on a given mix. So I put this Morphit plugin at the end of the mixbus to try as a substitute for the usual EQ. I start by decreasing the morph value to about 24%. Then I'll flip through the line of headphone response curves until I hear one or several that might improve the overall space, tone, dynamic response, etc. For each response curve I come across at 24% that sounds in good enough proportion in parallel with my mix.. I'll tweak the morph knob and usually find the magic number between 1-30%. Then I'll save that as a preset, reset the morph value to 24%, and keep going down the list of response curves. I end up with a bunch of presets for the same mix that all have a different vibe ranging from near, far, deep, full, light, dynamic, flat, big, spacious, etc.. And most of them sound better at the end of the mixbus than without. Keep in mind you can also switch to the "custom" setting and make hands on adjustments if you need to change something by a hair to lock in the flavor you want. Anyone could just use a regular EQ with a wet/dry function.. but what makes it easy with this is these response curves are all tried and tested by some of the best. So you could end up using a response curve with a morph value of only 2% that still does wonders at the end of your mix. Just grab some coffee and have fun using this thing hopefully along with a good musical ear.

Every time I've ever bought something it seems I buy a product that does not get supported. Whether it be an audio card that I can't find the Drivers to because the model I purchased is not supported, or a pair of AKG headphones that isn't supported. Shit yeah...

Shit No Man! If your headphones did appear on the list then why would you need this?! This is meant to make your budget headphone sound like one of the quality models on the list. I've got the sony MDR 7506s which are allright BUT I don't like the damn coiled cable....

I was highly skeptical. It seemed to me that no plugin could make studio floor headphones sound anything like my Sennheiser HD 650 cans. So, I gave it the cruelest test - cheap earbuds plus a little tweaking in custom mode.

Of course it didn't come close but those cheapo earbuds were suddenly amazing. I can feel a sudden urge to spend some dollars on this plugin. Right now, I don't need it but if my HD650's go tits up I'll have this plugin to fall back on while I cry in the corner over the loss of my fave cans. Nice one, @funtime.
My therapist and I have an agreement

Today has been released update 1.1.3 which improves HF detail. Will be glad to see it around here because the serial or keygen does not work with it :(
