This is what is reported on the Waves compatibility page.

First of all, as far as Logic X is concerned, the minimum version required for Waves 12.7 is 10.6.1 but this is obvious since it's always custom from software companies to recommend the latest version of the host.
---------------------------------------------
Logic 10.5.1, Luna 1.0.6 and Pyramix 12 are officially supported with software version 12.0, not 12.7

V12 supports 64-bit only.

Logic 10.5.1: On macOS 10.13.6 and 10.14.6, plugins that have an expand/collapse function may cause a graphic glitch when expanded or collapsed. We are working on a fix for this behavior. This does not occur on macOS 10.15.5.
----------------------------------------------

I tried to trick the system using the trick suggested by Thanos4 but it didn't work and maybe because my OS is Mojave and the version of Logic X is 10.5.1 ....
We hope that Waves will make an update even for those like me who are still a step backwards as an update of Os and Daw, otherwise all that remains is to update to Catalina and Logic X 10.6.1 ..... we will see how it will turn out! In all cases at least I understood that for the moment it would be useless to insist on any further tests!

By bro and and as always: good luck to everyone!

I'm on most recent Big Sur update & Logic 10.6.1. Thanos trick doesn't work on my end either. So its a Waves problem?

I too have a bit confused ideas: it's not really true that I didn't see any AU plug ..... I saw some of them including Studio Rack where I could load all the plugs present and without restrictions caused by the lack of official licenses . So the patch works perfectly, otherwise I couldn't have done anything .... so the problem falls on Waves. Probably the new features interact with Waves's cracked engine or maybe there's some other problem that I still can't locate!
However in many years of using Waves patched, this is the first time I've encountered a similar problem ...

I made a few experiments, the official plugins work just fine... I have a few on my account and they show up. The plugins *don't* appear in any DAW if you just download them without having an actual license *but* if you start a demo (you have to go into your Waves account and activate a 7 days demo, which we'll be deposited into your account) and download them (or even if you had previously downloaded them) they'll show up/will be recognized by RegUtility etc. Somehow the latest Waves Central manage to "hide" plugins which aren't registered from DAW.
I trust you when you say that they work inside Studio Rack, maybe Studio Rack is able find them...

1. Find the WAVES plug-in folder
2. For example, the path of the plugin for windows version is C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V12
3. Delete those plug-ins that are displayed in the DAW to check them all out
4. Refresh the list of plug-ins in DAW Finish

The plug-in version displayed in the DAW is V11. It may be the reason for this update that caused the display conflict, but the solution is not difficult at all.

Even the official 12.7 does not work on big sur with Logic 10.6.1. I've tested it.

quote by TsavnessHey Thanos, i read your solution but i have more questions .. Could you please explain me few things i really dont get?

First how do you copy the z-noise bundle since we get all plugins as a waveshell?
Second where this Library folder is located? I cant seem to find it anywhere in my pc or maybe out of frustration i am on blind mode
Also when you say in step 4 to just install Z-noise from a previous version you talk about the v12 offline installer from waves official site?

Man this update gave me headace..

Hi..first i am in mac...so i will tell you where things are there
Z-noise.bundle is in Applications/Waves/Plugins V12/
V12 folder is in Library/Application Support/Waves/Preset Browser
Don't know where they are in windows ..so you maybe try find them or google it

-Also when you say in step 4 to just install Z-noise from a previous version you talk about the v12 offline installer from waves official site?
-Exactly...

Win10 directory locations for the above (still doesn't work but here's the locations anyway):

your step #2 (*.bundle files) are in /Program Files (x86)/Waves/Plug-Ins V12
your step #3 ("V12" presets) are in /ProgramData/Waves Audio/Preset Browser

Note: Legit licenses are having issues too (including me). See here at vendor forum: https://forum.waves.com/t/updating-to-v12-7/2977/6

Regards.

For those seeing plugins loaded in studiorack..don't be confused ..it is loading WPAPI bundles...
you can see it if you click in Waves sign from any loaded plug within StudioRack

Yes, right! It is used to load the waves plugs in eMotion LV1, SuperRack, MultiRack, SoundGrid Studio or StudioRack ....

Think there is something wrong with their latest installer...
However, with my trick,i got all AAX and VST3 working perfectly..don't know about AU cause i don't use Logic or S1

.... and I agree with you! The main problem is Waves, then there may also be a crack problem of course .... we'll see!

AU format don't work in any compatible DAW...

It seems not one user on Gearslutz is experiencing any issue like this. (legit users)
Its safe to say this is really outdated patch and we were luicky to push it this far.
Not a problem of Waves but a problem of patch.

But we have a fairly updated version of the patch (v.1.3.0) that might work ... the problem is that it needs to update the keygen by R2R for version 12 by adding the licenses of the new products released in the last times. Unfortunately R2R never did that for Windows either, I think.

Nope, legit users (including myself) having issue with 12.7....see here for example: https://forum.waves.com/t/updating-to-v12-7/2977/6

SKIP THIS VERSION! (If you're on a Mac.)

I thought all the previous comments were just inexperienced users. But no, it's the software. I tried it multiple times, even on a new Mac OS install and it didn't work.

Went back to the version of Waves 12 that was posted here less than two weeks ago and Logic is happily scanning through all 614 newly installed Waves plugins.

High Sierra / Logic 10.4.8

Also (boring info) I spent about 2 hrs. on 4 separate install attempts, assuming the problem was that my home folder was on an external drive. So I moved my home folder back to the boot drive, de-installed, reinstalled, countless restarts required, etc. I got greedy for the new preset feature. Should've left well enough alone.

This upload probably wasted 100's of collective Audioz users' hours. I'd recommend removing it except that it's probably working fine for Windows users.

PS, the version from Feb. 17, 2021 is working fine in High Sierra, Logic 10.4.8.)

Why can't everyone see my comments?
I would love to help you guys!
Is there a problem with my network?

Your steps don't make any sense, at least for mac.
"Delete those plug-ins that are displayed in the DAW to check them all out"
what does that even mean?
Are you trying to say install the demos like the post before? If so, can then use the patch to k the demos and still show AU's in mac?

1. In fact, the reason why the plug-ins are not all displayed is that some plug-ins displayed by DAW are V11 versions, but all the V12.7 versions of plug-ins are not displayed
My method is verified in WIN%MAC after removing the V11 plug-ins that should not appear, the V12.7 plug-ins can be displayed correctly and use the previous patch is still effective.

2. So I suggest that you don't need to install the V12.7 offline installer again, just install it once.

3. Open Waves Central and use the manager to uninstall all the V10 and V11 plugins and restart the DAW. If you find that all the plugins are still not displayed, find and delete the V12.7 plugins under the WAVES file according to the name of the plugins and they will be displayed correctly.

Good luck! My English is really not very good, I use the translation software
I hope it helps you!

Did all that. No 11 stuff. Didn't work for any mac that uses AU plugs.

but thanks for the suggestions and I'll try and search again for 11 old stuff, to be sure. I think the biggest problem is with mac and Audio Units though.

I reinstalled WAVES 12.7 on my mac again and it worked

1. Please move to Macintosh HD> Applications> Waves>
2. Delete the Plug-Ins V11 Plug-Ins V10 folder
3. Delete the Plug-Ins V12 folder (IR1.IR360.IRlive.
studioRack these four plug-ins)
4. Search for the Waveshells V11 folder and delete it
5. Open the DAW and refresh the plug-in list

Good luck~~

Did all you outlined very carefully and it does not work. The AU reg utility for V12 shows zero plugins found, and no plugs show anywhere as Audio Units.

Sorry, there are some errors in the above reply, I made a correction, I hope you can read and understand

3. Open Waves Central and use the manager to uninstall all the V10 and V11 plugins and restart the DAW. If you find that all the plugins are still not displayed, go to the WAVES file and delete V11 according to the name of the plugins.

4. V12.7 version of the plug-in will be able to display correctly

Good luck! My English is really not very good, I use the translation software
I hope it helps you!
