The Usual Suspects, the developers of the DSP56300 emulator, have dropped Nodal Red 2x, a new Synthesizer plugin recreating Clavia Nord Lead 2x.

Many well-known 90s virtual analog synthesizers are based on the Motorola DSP5630 DSP. For example, the Access Virus series A, B, C, TI, the Clavia Nord Lead 3, Waldorf Q, or the Novation Nova synthesizers.

The project’s core is, once again, the DSP56300 emulation plugin. It’s available as a free download.

I don't have tested this Nordal Red 2X, but for others TUS v1.4.1, all are working fine by NVIDIA Game Ready 566.36 drivers (64-bit, on Windows 10 Pro 22H2), either from REAPER 6.7 and Bitwig Studio 5.1.9. No GUI issues/crashes (RTX 2080 - 8 GB).

Also, ROM must be copied here:
C:\Users\[username]\Documents\The Usual Suspects\NodalRed2X\roms

A very easy and good choice (if you have the plugin) is the discoDSP-->Discovery Pro-->Banks-->Nord Lead 2 Patches
it has over 2500 presets ready to be used with Nodal Red ;-)

Are FX versions also available? In the pack there is no FX versions but in the readme is written that it has also FX versions.

An FX-version would surprise me, since the hardware synth has no audio in, neither.

getting crashes in ableton 12.1, mac M1 Ultra, Ventura 13.5

It works, but without fail it crashes ableton when i start tweaking the synth. Sounds great tho! gnarly little thing

you need to add the presets separately, put them in patmanager folder then right click on data sources & add the folder.

'patchmanager' folder is a normal choice but you can put the presets anyway you want and then add them via the preset' browser as rosko wrote

Click on the Browser button near the bottom right.
Right click on 'Data Sources' on the left, select "Add Folders...", then select the folder which contains your presets. You can download 18,000 from here:
