Recreated from the ground up using Waves’ new Precision Analog Component® technology, SSL EV2 has been modeled component-by-component from a meticulously maintained reference console selected by Solid State Logic.

Alongside the classic dynamics and EQ controls, SSL EV2 introduces versatile new features. You can now switch between two iconic SSL EQ flavors: the Black Knob (242), delivering the SSL’s famous clean punch; and the original Brown Knob (O2) – the first EQ developed for SSL E-Series consoles – providing a crunchy, gritty sound rich with character.

The newly modeled Line and Mic preamp input section gives you rich harmonic distortion options, from gentle saturation to aggressive drive. Same for me. Everything installs and works just fine, but even thou I clearly saw and chose the SSL EV2 plugin in Waves Central during install, it doesn´t show up in Logic for me. Followed instructions, installed offline, run patch, re-start, run reg utility etc.. Tried three times, but still no SSL EV2 plugin.. Running OSX Big Sur and Logic 10.7.1.

To those with complaints about new SSL plugins coming out all the time-

I have no complaints about this whatsoever. It’s not about "do we need ANOTHER SSL strip?"

It’s more like, "ok I enjoy working with the SSL strip workflow, is this newest version going to get us closer to the ultimate?" “Ultimate” meaning the classic SSL sound ITB.

Working with an SSL strip is a method of working unto itself. Neve strips are like this too. So when there are potential improvements to the sound, people who like using that workflow get interested.

odd...I think I'll hold off till someone with an M1 on Monterey actually sees this new SSL in the Logic plugin list after install patch reboot , etc.

I think I'll be waiting for a cracked Mac version of VR or RET or whatever, as happened in July of this year. Unfortunately the old patch causes many problems that at first glance are not noticeable but there are (sudden crashes of the used DAW, random malfunctions of the plugs, difficulty in validating the AU plug-ins ....), at least for me I use LOGIC X PRO v10.5.1 with MOJAVE operating system .... Obviously I hope that R2R is also kind enough to provide an updated keygen for version 13 of Waves that is necessary for the proper functioning of any updated patch of RET.

I Found It Installed It But Like Another Comment Here It Is Not Showing In The Waves Plugin List and i Think i Know Why On Mac If You Go To Applications and Then To The Waves Folder It Shows You All The Versions Of Waves You Have The WaveShells For Me it Did Not Install a WaveShells V13 And The SSL EV2 Is Only V13 So If There Is Not a WaveShells v13 It Will Not Show Up in The Plugin List So The Question is Why Did It Not Intstall a WaveShells v13

I have a folder called WaveShells V13 in my applications folder, but still no SSL EV2, so I don´t know if that is the problem. It might be of course since I have no idea, just wanted to chime in and mention that the V13 folder gets installed for me, but still no SSL EV2 plugin inside Logic..

I Finally got it to show up in cubase 11 Mac in StudioRack i Had to install it from waves Not This Release offline installer and Yes it is Pretty CPU Intensive I Think They are Not Wearing To Much About The CPU Loads Of Plugins Any More Since Now The Mac M1 And The New AMD And Intel Processors They Don't Give a Shit That You Have To Buy a New 2-3-4 + Thousand Dollar Computer To Run Things Rite

install it directly from waves central (online), apply the patch, enter the commande line in the terminal, restart, apply reg au and go. There is a new waveshell 13.2 with this plugin, it's working for me on Mojave and logic 10.4.8

Two questions:

-All the plugins are successfully patched and working EXCEPT the new SSL EV2 plugin, which says it doesn't have a license. Anybody know a fix for this?

-This release still is uncracked on M1 native - must be run through Rosetta for the crack to work. Does anybody have a solution here?

Install:

01. Internet connection OFF
02. Go to waves folder and Install Waves Central and Run
03. Select Offline Installer and Click Install from an Offline Installer
04. Place Waves folder in Macintosh HD > Users > Username > Public > Waves Offline Installers
05. Browse the Waves folder you downloaded
06. Select the plugins you like and install
07. Close Waves Central
08. Apply patch

The following tweak wasn't necessary during installation of v12, now it is (so it seems):

09. Remove Waves local server

You can do this manually, without using the Terminal:
Library/Application Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer

10. RESTART (or use the PlugInstall app, so you don't have to restart each time when you install a new plug-in)

11. Run AU Reg tool 12.0.0.87 Build R 215024 for AU
12. Open DAW (in my case Logic) and finish scan

If SSL EV2 Channel crashed the validation tool, retry in Plug-In Manager, it should work
Not sure what causes this error, perhaps because it's v13.2.0
I have already 2 Brainworx SSL emulations so don't really need it tbh

I love SSL emulations, but I think it's already time for someone to tackle on Izotope Neutron's workflow, but with the channel strip color. For me, Neutron is like a next-gen channel strip, with all the visual quality of life improvements, even though the interface is not on par with other modern EQs and compressors. Are there even other plugins similar to Neutron around? At least the new Waves one looks good, reminds me of the Brainworx SSL 4000E, which is my go-to channel strip.
