SoundGrid Studio Application

SoundGrid Studio is an application for managing the SoundGrid network’s hardware and software devices on your host computer. not exactly friend crappy, but thats why u say "probabbly" i think... to explain to chilla friend, and for what i understand it (correct me somebody if im wrong please), its an aplicattion tu run on a kind of "server", to run the plugins on other side through ethernet (i suppose in another pc server, or dsp card, i dunno exactly) and avoid cpu load on the edditing machine, so u can use more plugins on the same project, without need a nasa pc tu run those large projects where u need a 60 channels, and 3 plugins per channel

these are similar to the UAD Apollo you need a Digigrid interface then you can run the Waves plugins that are SoundGrid format with the interface providing the CPU Power Not your Computer the only problem is that the Dam interface cost as much as a Good computer Mac or PC

It seems that in studio rack you can choose to process internally or externally... so external hw should not be necessary... but who knows..

As far as I understand, and I am not in the know on it all, but it is a server side program that will run your plugins and feed the audio through the network to your DAW ... this is handy for those who have multiple computers and want to use them together as one supercomputer ... I could have computer A and computer B as my servers, and computer C as my music workstation and harness the power of all three ... I find that pretty attractive, but I definitely don't have enough coin for three computers ...

if I did, I don't know if I would have found this forum! lol

Yes it dose network your computers together But it dose not harness/take the CPU Power from your networked computers you still need a digigrid unit http://www.digigrid.net/products/ but like i said look at the Dam prices

Why does none of the uploaders use hulkfile anymore? Is it to fast for free users..and so noone will make a paid account to the other hosters anymore? Or is there any other reason for it?

Hulkfine was great but was discontinued and in it s website suggest FileStorm, I used and it s fast like Hulkfile by now.

So, if you used Hulkfile, you ca use FileStorm to download.

Cloud or not code still has to execute on a local computer. If you notice all of Adobe's Cloud Line is cracked, was the minute they moved over.

Edit: I actually totally misunderstood your comment, SoundGrid has nothing to do with the cloud. I thought you read somewhere that that's the direction they were heading in.

with soundgrid you can do live mixing a band at a gig with waves plugins. you buy an 8 mic/line input interface and you can process the channels live without a daw. quite risky without hardware but, possible if u trust your laptop enough. i'd just buy a good analog/hybrid mixer for that with good compressors and filters instead

As a matter of fact lads this package does contain the Studio Rack plugin chainer that includes a lot of useful features and runs natively without any extra hardware. Checkout the Groove3 Waves StudioRack Explained video on this site.

This links two pc by Networking, so you can have fx's on one and the DAW on the other.

unlike linking two machines with Cubase as you need identical interfaces.
