On my Catalina iMac I get "Wineskin quit unexpectedly". Tried code signing the app, and the wineskin app, that failed with "unsealed contents present in the bundle root" error

Here is the solution:

In terminal type
"codesign -f -s - --deep /Applications/KeyGenApp64.app/Wineskin.app" and you're good to go :) All was needed was to codesign the wineskin inside the KeyGenApp64
If you encountering issues with the codesign command, try the same command but add "sudo" before

Since I'm on Mojave, I don't know if this solution will also work on Catalina. I'm quite sure it will but please update us after you try

Hi,


If I open an .exe I get this:

“ERROR

Error: Do not try to run the Installer if the wrapper is already running something else”

And

“Warning

No new executables found!

Maybe the installer failed…?

If you tried to install somewhere other than C: drive
(drive_c in the wrapper) then you will get this message too.
All software must be installed in C: drive.”

Hi, I tried the solution above with and without sudo(copy the command to be sure)

but I still get "Wineskin quit unexpectedly".Does anybody get the same and is there another trick to make it work.I'm on Mojave.Thanks.

I appreciate help. however, it didn't work. I pasted this in the Terminal app prior to and after his xattr -cr command. Still getting the "No Windows" error.

I'm on Catalina 10.15.5 by the way

Edit: It works. Thank you for your help and to all involved. I had to open the actual app instead of double clicking the keygen I wanted to install. I appreciate your help and time.

don't open the exe file directly, open Wineskin from application folder and open the exe from the app

will this work on high sierra? i updated from sierra where a the cashmere keygen app worked, to now, it's not working on high sierra, and unfortunately, i have a 2011 macbook pro and it's not mojave supported. will try though. thanks.

Got it working on Catalina; codesign per GuyPsy's instructions above. Run the app, choose "Install Software" choose your keygen.exe. If I try to drag a keygen onto the KeyGenApp64 icon, I get about 10 "There is no Windows Program configured to open this type of file" errors regardless of changing the name, per the readme.txt.
The trick is to choose Install Software .
