Who knows, Dima might not even own a Mac and he'd have to rely on a virtual machine...

Are you decompressing in Win? you should open .deb file inside Linux for installation, what distro are you using? if it is an Ubuntu,Debian or derivative its OK, otherwise in another distro (arch, etc) you have to convert .deb

yes, I decompressed the file in windows, I'm in dual boot with Debian 10 !
anyway the "song" remains the same ! <>
dpkg-deb (subprocess): decompressing archive member: lzma error: compressed data is corrupt

I dont understand why you would want to decompress .deb file in Win, unless you only want to explore files inside. In any case you can use Zipware, is free and does this for .deb in Win.
You might be having a permission problem with winrar. good luck

I get the same, this doesnt have anything to do with the rar. the rar works
sudo dpkg -i Bitwig-3.1.2.deb
comes back with dpkg-deb (subprocess): decompressing archive member: lzma error:

Meaning, noone has been able to install this on their linux machine i guess since the deb file is corrupt. with an archive manager it has the same outcome...

I did some comparing with the official bitwig deb file.
It seems that quite a big part of the files are missing in this deb file..
starting with /usr
/opt/bitwig-studio/resources (where the pdf is corrupt) also is almost 50MB smaller..
So, lets try to build a new package by combining the 2. since the only file which seems to be changed is /opt/bitwig-studio/bin/bitwig.jar it should be possible :)
Hopefully

Edit:

This seems to work for me!
