has anyone ever got these to run on a mac?
i am willing to fully run Parallels to get these licenses if i can get confirmation that works.

After have installed this on your parallels VM (can be run offline), you can copy the:

C:\ProgramData\Syncrosoft\SeLicenser.sel

into:

/Library/Application Support/Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser

...then launch eL. Control Center, it will propose you to REPAIR your license, do it (must be done online), it should work like a treat.

But more the time pass, less we need this, as the new license system replaces or supersedes eLicenser. See here for example: all native, doesn't need eLCC to work.

If anyone care anonymity, it sending data to some Amazon hosts. It means Steinberg knows what are you doing, your IP, PC information etc.

You may try to block Soft-eLicenser local license generator b26.exe and Elicenser but i'm not sure will it work that way cause during registering process PC connecting to some hosts for each licenses one by one.

I can confirm that on Windows, the license generation process can be done entirely offline.

But if ever you have to REPAIR your SeLicenser.sel (on mac, for example), or to perform a MAINTENANCE, you have no choice but do that online.

On my extensive beta tests, I've done this countless times without problem. What you have to remember:

-= 1. If ever you still have one (or several) USB dongle, remove it before doing any online operation, and...

2. Don't try to transfer your soft licenses (generated by this release) to your dongle. Never. Ever. Even if Jimmy Page - or your President, or Elvis - demands you to do so. N-E-V-E-R. =-

If you transfer soft licenses from VR to a material USB dongle (must be done online), Stnberg is able to detect the - barely l-gal - licenses, and then blacklist your dongle:

With a blacklisted dongle, you can non longer update your paid hard licenses, nor transfer them to another dongle, though you can always use the proggies you paid for. From a Stbrg POV, you are now recorded in their database as an "evil p-rate" .

So to sum up:

- on a system with VR eLicense generator installed, you have to avoid at all costs the action to transfer your dongle- or soft licenses from a place to somewhere else, because during this online operation eLCC 'phones home' and tells to Stnbrg absolutely everything... license-related.

The problem of course doesn't happen with the new, official, Activation Manager licenses (=Steinberg Licensing, or SILK), with them you can do absolutely what you want (transfer them from a comp to another, install them on 3 different machines, etc...)

You can download with Steinberg Download Assistant. After downloads you need to double click to loop/patch archives for registering or you can register within Steinberg Library Manager.

never had an issue with cubase
its HALion and Groove Agent that need this to be licensed.

can crossover accomplish this? it rarely fails but it failed when i tried this.
would rather not bloat my mac with parallels and windows for 2 licenses.

is a mac version no longer possible?

Yes of course, you can use VR's generator with crossover / wine. I've done that several times in the past.

Perhaps you will have to install .NET and C++ thingies on your bottle to make it work.

i see i should likely skip this and use the last R2 Soft-eLicenser local license generator instead.

i have a test box with parallels and crossover.
my main box has crossover. i would -rather not bloat the main box with windows and parallels.

i installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable latest supported package.
parallels runs the Soft-eLicenser local license generator. i stop the process as this in not the real/main cpu.
crossover STILL fails. i cant ever remember crossover installing anything successfully.
it only runs apps. it has never run an installer without failing.

i feel like im missing something obvious.

how should we install Soft-eLicenser local license generator with crossover?

The installation process is -
- Install Halion
- Install the libraries you want (in my case Every Library (83 libraries) - more than 400GB)
- Run THIS V.R. Absolute 5 b26 to Authorise Every Library in one run.
- Wait until its finished and run Halion and ALL Libraries Work.
