4. {only if need) fix microphone access

i used this patch and after purchasing a legit version it says no license found and can't find cubase under my products in steinberg download assistant is there any way or a file to remove in order to disable this patch? thanks

For whatever reason, all the Steinberg apps require that SIP be disabled in order to access V.R.'s licenses. If you enable SIP again, they don't even open. The good news is, they work perfectly with SIP disabled. Unfortunately, that's a dealbreaker for me, but if you have, say, an offline Mac that you use for music and can download this from another Mac that's online and has SIP enabled, you should be okay ... or you can just keep SIP disabled permanently and your fingers crossed that nothing bad ever affects your system, I guess.

If running a modern OS like Monterey, there's no risk in having SIP disabled. The system folder is both mounted as read-only as well as it being sealed (SSV). Should a malicious software ever manage to re-mount the system as writable and modify a file, the OS will no longer be bootable, so you'll know if something has 'gotten in' so to speak. SIP is just one out of several protection layers serving the same purpose, and it was the first one, and presumably also the weakest. Had it been enough, Apple may never have invented more safer layers layers, like SSV.

No valid LIcense? Go to "System Settings - Language - Apps" and start Cubase with english, then all works like a charm. Sry for bad english :)

Been disabled for years. No issues. Way more risk to actually use pirated software to begin with quite frankly. Just be careful what you do online. Use little snitch or similar.
