Well, ok then. I went to their page yesterday but alas no download was found. :) haha Cool!

Missing replacement .exe. Not a thing - just mentioning because I bet it was only a packing issue with leaving it out. Right? :)

Could that be the reason Standalone not affected by this?

Not sure exactly what you mean by "not affected" but in any case, it is not patched as I see in the details above now. We have our Blue Cat's Patchwork and there are even utilities to make .exe out of any VST (like they did with Serum here in the past) - so this is literally 0 a thing. Rock on.

Here a little collection of my favorit and free microhosts!
With these you can open every Vst_x32, x64 and Vst3 as a standalone.exe!

Image Line - Minihost 1.5.8

Nice!
Yeah, they are very easy and so useful and I love the integrated virtual keyboard!
My fav is the Image Line minihost modular, it is not easy to get nowadays although it is free...

Minihost is outdated and mostly every modern VST has trouble with Minihost. Also Minihost didn't support VST3 ... or CLAP ;)

I prefer Kushview Element. It is under active developement.
https://kushview.net/element/

Please use stable v0.46.0 or element-*-0.47.0_r277. All above (still r326) have a bug which prevent plugins to start if you hit the play button in Element.

I love Savihost. Besides creating new *.exe for VSTs, I use it for checking out everything. What I did was:

Make a folder for each (Vst2 & Vst3 types) in the root of my Vst2 & Vst3 folders. Then I created shortcuts to each of them in my "Send To" menu.
Doing that allows right-clicking and 'Send To..." either SaviHost for Vst2 or Vst3. SaviHost will open , loading the VST and with keyboard and all kinds of utilities. Great for quickly checking out newly downloaded VSTs! Just remember you have to perform whatever protection bypass is needed (if it is just replacing the VST, the patched one is the one you want to "send to..." anyway, so no extra steps needed there. If you are just doing a quick check , for many you could just run in demo mode, too.

Guys, that's all very interesting, why not create a thread about vst hosts at Audiosex.

I liked the relative simplicity of the old version (and the great sound), but at the same time it was lacking features needed for creating more intricate bass patches. It was obvious that they only had 808 type of tones in mind when designing it. It seems like they've had other types of bass sounds in mind - aside from 808's - when designing this version!

I've almost exclusively used Vital for basses since I bought it, but could be fun to mess around with this one again :)

Thanks Artic!

Installed on Windows 10 Pro and S1 v5.5.2, and works well. Very nice Big brother feel to SubLab. Presets are nice to get you started. 9/10 rating from 30 minutes into it.

I'm one of those people who never felt Sublab was lacking. However, depending on CPU load, the fx chain could come in handy. And more presets/sound sources is never a bad thing. I love that you can reorder that fx chain, too

Nor Win 7 64 bit Bitwig (Neither .vst or .vst3 show up in the DAW.)

Here is a screenshot of it running in Blue Cat's Patchwork and Cubase 12.0.10 on Windows 7 SP1, on an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ single core machine with GeForce GT 520 video card - in case you guys need some inspiration to get it working. Maybe the two DAWs you listed actually have a problem with it, even though doubtful, but for sure Windows 7 is not an issue. (Maybe for you - read on!)

If you remember the last SubLab post, I left a .dll pack to fix it for Windows 7. I didn't check at all, but it IS possible that pack is making things just work here. I would install it if I were you guys, regardless. In fact, now that I ponder some, I bet that is the fix for you both and any having a problem with 7.

Screenshot of all I just told.

Your possible fix found here.

I've tried, copying api to C:\windows\System32 but this plugin still not show up.
Yes i use latest win 7 64bit sp1 and have no problem with open gl.

It is probable that if you tried to run Ableton before fixing with the .dll pack that SubLab XL was put on Ableton's blacklist. If so, this will fix it.

Failing that, try using one of the hosts posted here to run it, as a test to see if your system is handling it well.

My Ableton on Win11 runs it well. (I don't have it on Win7.) Good luck!

I also followed your instructions and then I thought I'd try and load it in Patchwork. I get the message "Could not load SublabXL." Please check that this is a compatible 64 bit VST plug-in.

FAW's website claims it works with Win 7 but I'm pretty sure they're lying.

It struck me what you did, then I moved on to test precisely exactly what you did. I have the gut instinct that your machine is rockin' with all other things - so I am not discussing with someone without knowledge, which is great. It is how I knew you put the SYSWOW64 .dlls into System32 by mistake. (The fact of otherwise good machine helped me think in the right direction for you.)

Redownload the pack for both x86 and x64. Look at sizes of what is already in System32 and SYSWOW64 and you will see what belongs in each is the wrong size you have there already.

Here is a screenshot of System32 so you can make yours the same. It is sorted by "Date Created" and you have to add that as a selection to use it as a sorting item. (Right click empty space, choose "Sort By" then choose "More" to get to it so it can be added. Do so from here. Then after, right click empty space again, choose "Sort By" then "Date Created.")

Pay no attention to the error handling one - that was needed for latest standard non-preview WinDBG to work on 7.

Make sure you are trying to use SubLab XL 64-bit after this! I reproduced your error precisely by placing the .dlls each in the wrong folder. :) Don't forget to fix any blacklist in Ableton or whatever, once it works in Blue Cats.

Moral of the story too is that the pack is absolutely necessary to be installed well for 7 for even SubLab XL too.

Screenshot to see how it should be.

I am replying to myself so this important item isn't overlooked as it might be if I just edited: If somehow you are certain you did what I said all well and good, then my next suspicion would be a missing C++ Redistributable from Microsoft.

Here seems to be a helpful link towards that end.

Ahhh finally works for me. Thanks your reply.
No. Im not mistaken what file must be copied.
The culprit is teracopy that makes file corrupt or something.

Yeah, fixed it for me as well TeamCubadooby. That was some heroic effort on your part there and I'm truly grateful. Thanks for your hard work.

Edit: Oh wait. It hasn't. I was loading the wrong app. But it's 4.30 am. I'm also using Teracopy so I'll investigate tomorrow using something else to copy the files across.

Final edit. 5.00am but I've finally got it working. Yes, Teracopy was screwing up those files, preventing them from copying across properly. I've only tried it in Patchwork so far, but if it works there it should work anywhere. Again, thanks for the help.
