You can not make the EQ curve flat with any settings.
The default output gain in midrange is ~+3.5dB according to Plugin Doctor, but while listening I found it is +7.5dB in order to achieve the gain match with unprocessed sound.
At default setting THD is very bad @ -30.4dB, and IMD is even worse.
It is very slow at processing and is rather CPU consuming.
The sound result: is kills some of the detail and fine-punch (although it seems to be (over)using some transient boosting), and smudges highs a bit.
Personally I can't see any point in using it.

thank you for sharing that this is a flashy pos that is designed for the little trap/"type beat" kiddies who use midi sample packs and have no idea how to process their own audio and need mommy and daddy plugs, like this, with presets in order to make their tracks the least bit listenable. I hope to see your comment on more releases sir!

You seem to have a slight misunderstanding of how to perceive harmonic distortion.
Since this plug-in is "for the purpose of adding harmonic distortion," your assessment is misguided.

For example, if you are evaluating the playback accuracy of audio equipment, your way of thinking is one indicator. However, for something like this product, which is used for the purpose of adding color to the sound, it makes no sense at all. For such a plug-in, audio playback accuracy is not the point. It is about processing the sound, literally.

For example, if you test legendary vintage hardware, the way you evaluate it, it all becomes "a product that makes no sense to use." The analysis of harmonic distortion with Plugin Doctor is not about looking at the accuracy of audio reproduction. It is a look at the type of coloration that is performed.

When you turn the internal limiter off and A/B the plugin between bypassed and on (so you don't get tricked by the loudness change) it does seem to be doing something nice to it. I don't know what it's doing but it does seem to give it some life and expansiveness.

It does degrade the signal a little though, a bit of smearing/distortions as said above, i think there might be a clipper in there somewhere? But not that bad if you input a lower level signal into it. The sound is appealing enough imo to not completely write this off as a marketing gimmick. It DOES add some nifty 3D-ness to the sound. I guess it depends on what genre you're working on and how much control you like to have. If you're working on something that requires a more "pure" sound like jazz then this isn't the plugin in for you. Would work better for louder genres like EDM, Pop, Trap, maybe Metal.

Overall i think the to get the most out of this plugin you have to gain stage properly. Don't send loud signal into it

Yes I agree. In addition I might say that these kinds of things are just crutches that move the musician and engineer away from the essence of music, rather than closer to it. A good eq, a compressor, and a limiter are all you need to be able to edit your own musical compositions, or someone else's, in a really decent way that respects the art you are handling..

It's crappy that the plug doesn't have a user's manual to clarify this, but the default setting is the preset. You can push the input gain, raise or lower the amount of "under the hood processing", tweak the highs, mids and lows so that they hit the target spots, raise or lower the gain reduction on the limiter and raise or lower the output, but you really can't tweak the actual processing itself. Selecting "default" just resets all those values, and whatever "user's presets" you're saving are just tweaked input and output levels. When they say "don't touch a thing. By default, The God Particle’s settings are exactly how Jaycen has them set on every single one of his mixes since 2021.", that's exactly what they mean -- the plug is set up to be dropped onto a master bus, have its levels tweaked and then forgotten.

this plugin is like his protools template, it changes the sound of the song in a very drastic way, and not always for the better, maybe starting a song around it you can have a little better results. dunno!
