The only time mixing against pink noise produces results is when the sounds themselves are already very well-balanced throughout the spectrum. Otherwise you'll mix against pink noise just the most proeminent part of the sound, and often that part is exactly the one you should tame with EQ, not use as a reference level. By the time you're able to balance sounds, you won't need to mix with pink noise anymore. Mixing with pink noise is a just a solution desperately looking for a problem

Never really understood pink noise. Is it like some kind of white noise, just in gay?

Pretty much. But only half as gay as your avatar.

Basically, pink noise is white noise but in a 1/f ratio, meaning that the level of noise is reduced linear to the rise of frequency which results in a percepted equal loudness of frequencies across the whole spectrum (which is not the case with white noise).

That's why it's very useful for calibrating speakers and room characteristics.

But if you apply this to creative work such as mixing music, I feel really sorrry for you.

BTW: Youtube audio fuckers jump on everytrend that's currently hot which creates a feedback loop of hyping shit up which some topics really don't deserve. If a lot of videos about the same mixing technique surface about the same time from differnt "pro" audio YT channels then you know, it's all overhyped bullshit you shouldn't follow.

Pink is noise is efficient when calibrating your monitors and for Sound correction software like ARC. It's useful for mixing environments.

any vst can level match the pink noise ?
and no need manually 1 track 1 track level match with pink noise 。

Best way to do this is to use iZotope RX EQ Match on whole mix and apply Pink noise curve, using amount increase/decrease effect, also you can try white noise or Brown noise, or mix those curves to make mix sound fantastic. I also found some perfect noise profile which is kind mix of brown + pink noise curve. Make every mix to look more "perfect"

Probably a better idea to learn fundamental mixing practices like proper gain staging techniques, subtractive eq, level matching, etc and the use of good reference tracks for comparison...

Pink is great for referencing when designing sounds
