Hey guys,

this is driving me nuts. I tried the previous release and now this and I just can't get it to work.

I am on a 14" M1 Pro running MacOS 12.0.1


I've made sure to clean out all old Waves files and folders in the libraries and followed the instructions.

I also did the sudo code sign thing on the waveslicenseengine.bundle after applying the patch.

But still: Eveytime Logic Pro launches and searches for the PlugIns I get a "Waves License Error" Pop-Up and the PlugIns won't validate.

Has anyone have idea what I could do?

The PlugIns will validate and work in rosetta mode but ONLY in rosetta mode. When I try to open a plugin in native Logic it just opens a small blank plugin window with the loading circle.
If I can't run the plugins native they are useless to me.

But people claim that they've got it working natively on their M1 Macs.

I've literally been like last night almost throwing my computer out the window. Everytime Waves Central comes up, it just hangs on saying "Please close application: Garageband". K cool but I don't have Garageband on my M1.

Just trying to download the newer one now and see if that works. I mistakenly thought like the plugs were not M1for some reason on my earlier comment. I mean, in non-pirated versions Waves says M1 is supposed, BUT

Not for the last two versions. 10.6.3 was like before the whole Spatial Audio addition to Logic. I'm fine with running them in Rosetta2 right now as it doesn't seem like there's another choice, other then reverting back to an older version.

i'm on an m1 mac mini, waves central installation worked with waves 12 but any waves 13 version ive tried so far gives me installation error messages, I cant for the life of my figure it out, anyone have any suggestions?

There’s like three labels for M1 compatibility right now in Monterey, right. “Intel”, “Universal” and “Apple Silicon”. I’ve got them working while running Logic in Rosetta, but not M1. But to answer you’r question, the official documents from Waves last updated in October specity that the latest supported version of Logic Pro using Arm64 is 10.6.3. So if you’re on a version that’s released after that, Logic should run via Rosetta and not “Universal”.

I’m actually curious myself as to when the “Apple Silicon” label started coming up, or is it just that it’s taken this long for some programs to implement this. If you run the M1 version of VLC for example, it’ll show (Apple Silicon) instead of Universal, as the M1 version only supports natively Apple Silicon. The other versions are released as Intel, or Universal.

So put simply, if you’re on later that Logic Pro 10.6.3, you’ll need to sue Rosetta to run the plug-ins. And some of them aren’t supported anyways. Hopefully the newer versions receive support soon as Spatial Audio is offered on the last two releases.

Actually took me forever to install as there were project files in shared folders from previous releases and it kept telling me to close GarageBand, which I don’t have on my system, but read a bunch of posts here where to delete the files in directories, as well as grabbed a AU-Cache reset script instead of having to do that every time.

This version didn't want to work for me as native m1. I went back to the v2021.11.15 RET. That one has a totally different and much more legit seeming registration method and works fine on native m1.
